Q:   How can I get a study visa for Sweden?

A: 

Study visa for Sweden has been broadly divided into two different types of visas a person can apply for when planning to go to Sweden. A person intending to travel to Sweden for recreational purposes would apply for a Schengen Visa. This is essentially a visa that is valid for three months. Since all visa applications are sent to Sweden, the student visa is processed in about 90 days. However, it might take longer and you are advised to start the process as soon as possible.

Q:   What is the cost of study visa in Sweden?

A: 

Sweden Study Visa fee for Residence Permit for Study purposes for Sweden is SEK 1,500 at the current exchange rate. Students are required to make an online payment for the same by using a Visa or a MasterCard. (Both Credit and Bank/Debit Cards are acceptable).

Q:   Do I need IELTS to study in Sweden?

A: 

Swedish universities offer various programs taught in English langauge. Therefore, international students applying to programs in Swedish universities taught in English are required to demonstrate their proficiency in English language. Besides, IELTS international students can also submit test scores of TOEFL, PTE and Duolingo. The minimum English language requirements for international students vary from programme to program and university to university in Sweden. Therefore, international students should check the minimum English language requirement for their programme at their university's website. 

Q:   Can international students get jobs in Sweden during their study?

A: 

Yes, international students studying in Sweden can work while studying. Please note that, students from the EU/EEA and Switzerland have the right to work in Sweden without a work permit. However, non-EU/EEA international students allowed to work part-time during their studies for up to 20 hours per week, and full-time during scheduled breaks. The study permit to Sweden allows international students to work-while studying in Swedish universities. There are plenty of jobs for international students in Sweden such as tutor, waiter, receptionist, etc.
