At present, SAT exam centres in India 2024 include 99 institutions across 25+ cities where the SAT exam is conducted. Since the number of applicants is increasing every year, the SAT exam requires its aspirants to apply a month in advance to book SAT exam slots at their preferred exam centre. It is always recommended to apply on time to avoid losing seats at the preferred SAT exam centre near them. Usually, a limited set of seats are available at a given SAT exam centre during SAT registrations, hence it is advised to register well within time. Each SAT exam centre in India has a unique code, thus, those registering with the SAT centre code must double-check before choosing the SAT exam centre in India.

Q:   What are the pointers to keep in mind while choosing SAT exam centre?

A:

When choosing a SAT exam centre while registering, applicants should have the following pointers covered:

  • The SAT exam centre must be 1 or 2 kms in distance.
  • Exam centre must be within the same city and if possible in the same vicinity.
  • Check beforehand how will you reach your SAT exam centre and in how much time plus which mode of transportation would suit you the best.
  • Ensure that the exam centre you are choosing is conducting the exam and will not cancel at the last minute.
  • Register early so that the seats don't run out at your preferred test centre.

Q:   How many SAT exam centres are in India?

How to Find the Nearest SAT Exam Centre in 2024?

Worried about getting the nearest SAT exam centre for the main exam day? There is one way to get rid of this problem. Check out the steps to find the nearest SAT centres by following these simple instructions given in the section below:

  • First of all, log in on the College Board website and get to the registration page after choosing the appropriate SAT exam date.

  • Manually the applicant can enter the city or test centre code and check for the nearby SAT centre options.
  • The applicant will be able to see which SAT exam centres are near the applicant's address based on the city or test centre code selection.
  • The applicant can choose the nearest SAT exam centre based on the centre's availability for the chosen exam date and complete the process.

Upon final selection of the nearest SAT exam centre, applicants can then proceed to the payment page and complete SAT registration.

Note: It is better to select the nearest possible SAT centre so that it is feasible and within the applicant's reach on the test day. SAT exam is conducted in seven months of the year, thus, it may be possible that sometimes there are fewer SAT exam centre availability.

Q:   Does the list of SAT exam centres change frequently?

A:

No, as such the list of SAT exam centres does not change so frequently by College Board. The availability of SAT exam centre may vary based on the chosen SAT exam date by the applicant. Thus, in case the centre is closed then the applicants will have to check for other options.

Q:   How many SAT exam centres are in India?

A:

Located across 33 cities, there are around 120 designated SAT exam centres in India. Indian students registering for SAT exam can choose for any one of these test centres out of 120 based on their city and area of accommodation. The SAT centres in India are located at all possible cities and in possible areas of these cities too. Each SAT centre has a unique centre code which differentiates one test centre from the other. Students must exercise caution while choosing a SAT exam centre.

Q:   Can multiple SAT exam centres be chosen to appear for the exam?

A:

No, only one SAT exam centre can be chosen from the already given list of SAT exam centres in India. Applicants can register only once, for one SAT exam centre and one exam date only. Multiple selections from different ID's can lead to blacklisting of the candidate by College Board.

Q:   Can I change my SAT exam centre at the last minute?

A:

No, there is no provision of altering SAT exam centres at the last minute. Right after registering for the SAT exam, a window opens for a small time frame where students have the option of updating their SAT exam centres or even dates but at an additional cost. Thus, applicants cannot change the SAT exam centre right before the exam and should be careful while choosing the right exam centre so that they reach the centre within time from their home.

SAT Exam Centre 2024 Booking in India

At the time of SAT registration, applicants will get the SAT dates and upon selecting the specific date, the list of all SAT exam's Indian centres will be displayed. There may be SAT exam centres that may be full and will show an option for available SAT exam centres in India, which can be selected and the preferred SAT exam centre can be selected. Please ensure to cross-check the availability of your nearest test centre before choosing from the multiple SAT exam dates. The steps for SAT registration remain the same.

As already mentioned above, applicants should make up their minds in advance and register for the SAT exam so that they can find seats at the nearest possible SAT exam centre in India. Seats fill up faster at each SAT exam centre because a lot of applicants tend to apply for the SAT exam in advance or before the deadlines. Also, students must check the latest SAT exam centres in their designated city of residence before finally choosing a centre for the examination. SAT exam is conducted frequently, but it is better to ensure that students choose their SAT exam dates beforehand.

Q:   What are the steps to book SAT exam centre?

A:

Booking an exam centre to appear for SAT is a part of the registration process. The applicants have to book a date and correspondingly choose the available exam centres available for the exam. Once the fee is paid for SAT registration, the applicants cannot modify the changes for exam centre.

Q:   What to do if SAT test centre is closed and the test gets cancelled?

A:

In case your test centre cancels the SAT exam, the submitted fee will be refunded. College Board will also arrange to reschedule the SAT exam at a later date either at that test centre or at any other test centre located nearby. Applicants can also check for another SAT date and centre for completing the registration. Since this is not the case usually, but in case a situation like this arises, students will not be at the losing end.

Q:   Can students take the SAT exam at any other test centre?

A:

No, as the student has already registered for a particular test centre and there is no walk-in, so, you need to give SAT at your test centre only where you have booked the slot. Applicants must avoid such situations, they must check the address of their SAT exam centre and reach 30 mins prior to the exam commencement to avoid last minute confusions. In case the applicant reaches the incoorect SAT centre also, he/she should have enough time to reach the designated centre within the stipulated time.

Q:   Can I reschedule SAT exam for the same SAT exam centre as before?

A:

Applicants can reschedule their SAT exam date but there is no guarantee of getting an option for the same SAT exam centre. In some cases an applicant may find a spot at the previously chosen SAT exam centre as before may be available and in some cases it may not be available. This is why it is advised that students must make up their minds before choosing an exam date or centre. However, in case of genuine reasons, the option for rescheduling and changing the exam date and centre respectively are also available.

Hello! Scholarships depend on the university the applicant is applying to and based on the criteria fulfilled. So when you apply for admission to any university, you can check on what score cutoff of SAT a scholarship is being offered and apply for that scholarship accordingly. Hope this helps!
