It is a great university with a vibrant campus.
Tips: Becoming independent is the first and foremost thing every individual should learn. Taking financial responsibility and accountability is another thing. Managing all your funds on your own is something we should be aware of. I had 30% scholarship due to my previous academic record. University is a bridge between academics and part time opportunities.
Likes (Public transportation): There is free transportation within the CBD. Even if you live away from the city, buses are reliable and are cheap for students. There are monthly passes available for students for 120-150$. There are different types of public transport like tram, bus and train.
Dislikes (Internships): No proper guidance is available to find part time or full time jobs. They do not help in finding internships. My course had a compulsory internship for 6 months but you have to source internships on your own. This is very difficult for an international student.

University that has gone down in it's global ranking list.
Tips: Please make sure to check the Ashok Khurana Scholarship for Indian students joining in January intake. I was not able to apply for this as I came in June intake. The transition was initially hard as the university can be pretty stressful with assignments and exams. Working part-time to earn enough for living expenses adds to that stress even further. But as months pass, we will get used to it and go with the flow. We'll also learn to manage time and become independent. University is great with lots of engaging activities if you are interested in participating. Engineering courses could get stressful compared to management courses. I'm not sure about the other courses. I'm also not sure of how things will be once this university merges with the University of South Australia. It has already gone down in its global ranking. Adelaide is a small town with a slow life. Everything closes before 5 pm and there isn't much to do after that. Not the kind of place for people looking for an exciting night, like I believe. It's peaceful and calm.
Likes (Student Life): I haven't spend much time in University after semester 1 due to part time job. But before that I used to enjoy going to networking events organised by the uni. The University is excellent in terms of the services it provides. Plenty of events and communities for students to network and engage with others. They also provide free access to a Computer. Printing services are charged a small fee.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There aren't many good Indian restaurants in Adelaide. Those that are there aren't authentic and could be expensive. A meal can cost around 20-30 dollars. Most restaurants have North Indian Cuisine and there aren't many with a South Indian menu. I prefer cooking at home to save money.

Life at Uni Adelaide for Freshers
Tips: There are scholarships available for international students. Maximum of 30 percent. In addition, there are some more benefits like free student lunches, on-campus computer and printer access, monthly festivities, and much more. There was a huge cultural shift coming to Adelaide, as people are very much extroverted here, and a good social life is a must to make more friends.
Likes (Safety): Honestly, the safety here is top-tier. For starters the online security and cybersecurity setup for students is incredibly tight. Plus, traffic rules are actually followed strictly so you don't feel like you're risking your life crossing the street. The campus also has super clear, straightforward steps for any kind of emergency so you always know what to do. Beyond just physical safety, the vibe here really protects your peace of mind. The professors actually care about student burnout and look out for your mental health. Deadlines for assignments are pretty flexible when things get hectic, and the grading rubrics are crystal clear which takes away a ton of stress and makes it way easier to pull good grades.
Dislikes (Part time work): Very few on-campus part-time jobs for international students. Part-time work needs to be searched for in suburbs. The average payout will be around 23 AUD per hour. It would be better if you got some references first through LinkedIn or student council meetings.
