- Complete COOP 0101 (career skills course);
- Complete 30 credits at Algoma;
- Maintain a 70% higher average;
- Register as a full-time student in two of the past four terms; and
- Apply for a Co-Op Work Permit

The Chancellor’s Award of Algoma University is a scholarship valued at CAD 5,000 per academic year for international secondary school graduates entering their first year of study in a UG degree. To avail this scholarship, students must be studying on a full-time basis. Also, a student must achieve a minimum of A+ average (or country equivalent) in their previous academic record. On top of this, the language requirement as given below should also be met:
- Duolingo: 125
- IELTS: 7.0 overall, no band less than 6
- PTE: 65
- TOEFL: 85 on iBT
