A Course That Opens New Horizons
Tips: Despite the problems, I am very satisfied with my studies and my college, although I had difficulties with accommodation and job search. The college is situated in a relatively rural place, which means that there are not many free rooms available. What makes the situation even more difficult is the high competition among students who are searching for accommodation and the fact that affordable rooms are very rare. Same goes for job opportunities. There are many students who compete for the same few positions, and many of them depend on their earnings for living expenses and gaining some experience. Due to this, finding a position takes quite a long time and effort. Even though it was quite a challenge sometimes, I believe that it taught me patience and independence. Now, I begin searching for a place to live or a job much earlier and am ready to look further from my neighborhood. Despite all the mentioned challenges, I am very positive about this experience. It provided me with valuable knowledge, exposure and opportunities.
Likes (Quality of faculty): I have exceptionally experienced professors, and their lectures are informative and interesting. It is possible to learn even very complex things due to the fact that they present the material skillfully. The thing that I like the most about our faculty members is that they have the right approach towards students. The professors are very friendly, and I have never felt any discomfort in addressing my questions or saying that I cannot understand something. On the contrary, they always offer to provide advice. Also, our professors do not concentrate on purely theoretical knowledge. They always demonstrate to us how to connect the theoretical material that we study with practice. They constantly provide us with different pieces of information connected to projects, workshops, seminars, and other events. This made me view my field of study from another perspective and inspired me to get more practical experience. To sum up, I am really happy with the quality of education and the attitude of professors towards students.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Getting around near the university is mostly easy. Trains run from bigger towns like Krefeld every 30 minutes, and buses connect to Kleve and the surrounding villages. That makes it simple to reach campus, and also to get to shops and other everyday services. That said, there are two problems. First, the buses stop at 10:30 p.m. For students with evening classes, or those who work late or need to travel at night, that’s a real limitation. Many end up paying for taxis or finding a ride with someone who has a car. Second, the trains are often delayed or canceled. Even with frequent services, this makes it hard to be sure of arriving at class or work on time. The connections themselves are good, but later bus services and more reliable trains would make a big difference for students.

Big buildings, big campus; more opportunities needed in collaboration for international community.
Tips: The cultural shift is as equal as it can be in any other university in Germany. The Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences is a great option for those who love spending time at their own pace. I don't have any leverage on the scholarship part because I applied without a scholarship. But the university provides, and you can be lucky to win them. The course is moderate to me, though the opportunities aren't enough to support a side or long-term hustle.
Likes (Safety): This locality is safe at any time of day. I feel safe travelling here late at night or early in the morning. The city has a good safety rating. Compared to other big cities in Germany, where it seems there are a lot of homeless people and drunk people, thankfully, the number of these types of unwanted people is low here.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The university is in a German town, close to a city in the Netherlands. The locals are either very young or old, and things are very calm and quiet, with plenty of space for people who like to live at their own pace. This is in contrast to big cities in Germany, where everything is busier and more expensive.

Uni-assist takes around 6 weeks to process an application. If the application is complete, the uni-assist forwards the application to Rhine Waal Uni. After this, it can take up to 2 more weeks until a final decision is made.
