A smooth transition with strong academic and financial support.
Tips: The transition was smooth though adjusting to new cultural norms and academic expectations took some time. Orientation programs and support from peers made the process easier. I received a merit based scholarship through an online application which covered part of the tuition and provided a small monthly stipend. The application required academic records and a personal statement.
Likes (Part time work): On-campus part time jobs are fairly available in libraries, cafeterias and administrative offices. Off-campus roles include retail, food services and internships in nearby businesses. Students usually manage part-time work well with academics due to flexible hours. Time management becomes key especially during exam period. The average payout ranges from 10 to 15 dollars per hour depending on the job.
Dislikes (Internships): There is strong guidance available for internships through career services, faculty and dedicated workshops. Regular sessions on resume building and interview prep are conducted. The university also collaborates with companies to offer internship opportunities. Most internships are highly relevant to the students' academic fields.

An exciting and enriching journey that offers both academic excellence and personal growth.
Tips: The transition has been smooth although I experienced a shift in cultural norms especially in social interactions and daily routine. I received a meritbased scholarship that covered part of my tuition and provided a living allowance.
Likes (Post study jobs): I enjoy the vibrant campus life and the chance to meet people from diverse backgrounds. There are various student clubs including those for sports technology and volunteering offering ample opportunities for involvement.
Dislikes (Internships): The teaching methodology is interactive which makes learning engaging. The faculty is quite diverse with professors from various nationalities bringing different perspectives to the curriculum.

The college offers decent help for internships, though you still need to take initiatives.
Tips: Coming here is a very big change, especially in communication and the independent learning lectures. It took me a month or so to adjust. I was awarded a merit-based scholarship after submitting strong merit-based records. This college is very good for master's students. Many of the internships are closely tied to what we are studying – mine was in digital marketing skills. The college offers decent help when it comes to internships, though you still need to take initiative. Staff will guide you on how to write applications and prepare for interviews. On campus part-time jobs at ATU Donegal are limited but available in different roles, student services and the ambassador programme.

Many large firms offer work visa sponsorship, especially in tech and business analytics.
Tips: I did receive a scholarship, and I am very happy with my decision to study here. There was definitely a culture shift, especially with how informal and approachable lecturers are; it was refreshing initially. But I still felt out of place until I realised that the university community is warm and very helpful to the students. The food scene in Letterkenny is surprisingly diverse, and within a short walk, you'll find Indian, Thai, Mediterranean, and Irish restaurants. Casual meals run about €10-€15. Mid-range restaurants will run you €25-€30 for a full course.
Dislikes (Safety): The college prioritises student safety with more than just security personnel. On-campus medical health insurance, mental health resources, and support staff contribute a lot to the secure feeling here. I had a minor bike accident once, and people nearby rushed to help.

Quality learning in a peaceful environment.
Tips: Setting into life in Ireland took some adjusting, especially the colder weather and the very punctual lifestyle. The classroom environment here is much more interactive than what I was used to. The university has a portal where I applied for a scholarship, and it made a big difference to get that €1500. I really appreciate it. In Ireland, many large firms offer work visa sponsorship, especially in tech and business analytics. It helps that the university provides monitored accommodation, has access to health services, and regularly organises student safety awareness events. They even offer self-defence workshops every so often.

Tips: It took time to adjust to the pace of life, the accents, and the independent study style, but the support system here made it easier. I was lucky to receive a merit-based scholarship that helped me financially.
Likes (Internships): ATU Donegal provides solid guidance when it comes to internships. I found my internship through one of their career fairs, and it was directly related to my field. The career services team regularly shares opportunities via email and hosts CV workshops and prep sessions.
Dislikes (Safety): The university doesn't just rely on security guards for safety. They also have security cameras, well lit walkways and a clear code of conduct. Letterkenny is a small and friendly town that is easy to get around which makes it a great place to understand Irish culture.
