Living in Malaysia as a student

It is a politically and economically stable country.

If you are living in the capital city, you will feel that you are in the heart of an exciting urban centre. Students can enjoy international cuisine, a bustling nightlife in the heart of the city. Learning the Malay language could take you far in your career path and also make your journey more enjoyable in this region. Malay is not a difficult language to learn. It is more or less like Indonesian language and it is widely used in the whole of Southeast Asia.

 Malaysian student life is easy - consider these factors:

• Accommodation of international students: Hostel accommodation facility is available for students and so are privately rented apartments. But the number is not plenty as compared to other developed countries. Most of the hostels have a student canteen that will offer a variety of meals at reasonable prices. Room rates are not inclusive of bedding and cleaning. Postgraduate students can stay in private residence. General information for private residences can be accessed from the Student Affairs Department and the local newspapers. 
• Transportation: Road system is pretty good in the country and it is active and effective. It provides an easy way to get around to the city and is the cheapest way to see the beauty of the Malaysian countryside. 
• Cost of living in Malaysia: The cost of living is exceptionally low; for international students, it could be as low as RM10, 000 which is approximately US$2,632 per annum (the cost of living in the city is about 10% higher). The low cost of living and cheaper tuition rates appeal to most of the local and international students. It helps them in saving their expenses while studying in Malaysia and also getting a quality education, exposure, and lifestyle. 
• Food: The most common meat products in Malaysia are beef, poultry, pork, and mutton. They are fresh, widely sold, and available at low rates. Meat and fish in Malaysia can only cost half as much as in the UK. Fruits and vegetables such as lettuce, bell pepper, papaya, kiwi, lychee, durian, and mangosteen are also present all year round.
