• A limited number of scholarships are available to international Masters applicants with exceptional academic achivement to date. These are competitive and only applicants with excellent academic achievement and potential will be considered. If you have exceptional grades to date, you can apply for a scholarship after you have received an offer to study at the University of Sussex in 2026.

  • Governance, Development and Public Policy MA
  • Power, Participation and Social Change MA
  • Poverty and Development MA
  • Masters degrees in Social Work (if receiving an NHS bursary)
  • PGCE courses
  • Schools Direct teaching course
  • Any Masters funded by the research councils (e.g. those receiving ESRC 1+3 funding)

Max scholarship per student: Pound 5,000 => Rs 6,44,180

Conversion rate used: 1 Pound = Rs. 129.36 (last updated 16th August 2026)

Eligibility

• To be eligible for this scholarship, an applicant must:
  • Hold or expect to achieve a First Class Bachelors degree from a UK university
  • Have applied and received an offer for a full time, eligible Masters degree at Sussex starting in September
  • Submit a separate scholarship application after they have applied for their Masters 

Preference will be given to following candidates:

• Priority will be given to applicants that have not already completed a postgraduate qualification

Application Process

• To be considered for the Chancellors Masters Scholarship, you need to have received and accepted an offer of a place on an eligible Masters at Sussex and hold, or expect to achieve, a First Class UK Bachelors degree. To apply for the scholarship, you are required to provide a statement of academic interests.  You should include information about:
• Your previous academic achievement and excellence
• Your academic and career aspirations after you have completed your Masters
• Any work or extra-curricular activity you have undertaken that relates to your Masters
