Stressful academic life.
Tips: It was quite challenging initially but eventually I settled down. I experienced a slight culture shock when I first came to Turkey but I got used to their customs. I got a full scholarship for my first year and my tuition fees were waived off entirely. It was based on my 12th board exam percentage. They didn’t require anything else for the scholarship. I would describe METU as challenging, considering the academic stress that one has to go through every semester even though my degree supposedly is not that difficult yet it has me in a chokehold. This says a lot about how difficult the courses are here and the education pattern is quite different from other universities.
Likes (Safety): Ankara is quite safe. Turkey, in general, is quite safe. But there are cases of catcalling here, especially if one is hanging out late at night, it’s possible to come across random guys trying to hit on you.
