Colgate’s liberal arts curriculum introduces students to the power of rigorous discourse, intellectual curiosity, and the energetic pursuit of knowledge. Students are encouraged to explore the evolving links between disciplines and apply principles of modern thought. The university offers 56 Bachelor of Arts degree programs including major and minor subjects divided among 40 departments that are housed within four academic divisions, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Arts and Humanities, Social Sciences and University Studies. Some the strongest academic programs are Economics, Psychological Science, Geology, Biology, Political Science, Computer Science and more.

Colgate University expects a minimum score of 7 in IELTS. Along with this, international applicants whose first language is not English need to submit English language proficiency proof. The university recommends students to achieve the following minimum scores in any one of the English exams:

Located in Hamilton, New York, Colgate University is situated in a rural area with a population that equals the institution’s student body. It is mainly an undergraduate degree-offering institution with a small MA Teaching programme delivered by four major academic divisions. Some good reasons to apply at Colgate University are:

• Excellent faculties: Colgate has a full-time faculty of 325 professors, of which 95% have a PhD or the highest degree in their respective fields.

Along with on-campus employment provided by the university to students who need it, students can also choose to work part-time. According to law, those who hold a US student visa can work up to 20 hours a week when school is in session and 40 hours per week during school breaks. Off-campus work is defined as work undertaken at a location affiliated with the school. Thus, students can work at the university bookstore, cafeteria, and other facilities where students are allowed to help.

To get an off-campus or on-campus job, students will need to apply at least 30 days before classes begin. They will need to talk to the DSO to apply and get a letter of approval. 

Visa rules: Students who fall under the F1 visa category and have completed at least one full academic year of their current programme of study can work off-campus as well. They will need to ensure that their economic hardship qualifies according to the rules and regulations of the Department of Homeland Security.
