Popular courses at the college are Business Administration, Nursing and Engineering. The college has very high racial diversity with 52% percent of students being minorities or people of color.

Cuyamaca College can be considered an easy college to get into because of its open admission policy. It accepts all the students having a high school Diploma or equivalent. Specific GPA is not mentioned but Generally, a GPA of 3.5-3.7 is considered competitive. It doesn't have a minimum SAT or ACT score requirement for admission. The application is also free. International students must submit English proficiency test scores.
