It is also well known for its post-study work opportunities in USA.Scott Joseph Kelly is a notable alumni of SUNY Maritime College. He is an American engineer, retired astronaut, and naval aviator.Other notable alumni are Geraldo Rivera(American journalist),Edward Villella (American ballet dancer). 

Q:   Is SUNY Maritime College good for International students?

SUNY Maritime College is a right call for International students. The college provides a selection of courses in Marine Engineering, International Transportation, Marine Environmental Science, Naval Architecture etc. The college has an International Student Services Office which provides academic support to International students, gives Advisement on F-1 status, hosts cultural events and programs. A PDF named International Student Handbook is also available on the college website with all the pre-arrival information.

Q:   What are the deadlines for submitting applications for Indian students at SUNY Maritime College?
A: 

If a student is applying through early decision, application must be completed and submitted by 1st November. The regular admission deadline is 31st January for which the deposit must be paid by May 1.

If an applicant applies after January 31 his application is reviewed depending upon the available space.

Q:   Can an average Indian student join SUNY Maritime College?
A: 

Yes, an average student can join SUNY Maritime College as the acceptance rate of is 80%. All a student need to have is an average SAT score between 1140 and 1300 or an ACT score of 24 and 28. Being a non-native English speaker an Indian student need to provide English Proficiency proof through TOEFL and IELTS exam. A minimum TOEFL score of 79 and an IELTS band score of 6.5 are needed to be eligible.
