International Marketing Management MSc - Batch of 2026

Strong global exposure and opportunities.
Tips: Before coming, learning basic cooking skills is very important. There are cultural shifts that one may experience, but the experience is different from that of your home country. You get to interact with people from different countries which makes one more diverse in experience. There are plenty of scholarships available but they depend on your skills. Very satisfied with the course and experience.
Likes (Value for money): The course is splendid. Every module is carefully designed to meet your future needs. There are separate seminars and workshops dedicated to teaching you, where groups are allocated and in depth research and studying will be done. It is quite interactive in general and very real life based.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The UK recession is really bad. If you apply for jobs in your first year while studying you can manage to find one that aligns with your course and degree, since the return on investment is pretty high. The university also provides support when it comes to job hunting.

The job market is tough right now.
Tips: The weather is harsh and the cold is brutal. So layer up well. Learn how to cook basics. I did get a scholarship; depending on your course, it's different for everybody. I am very satisfied with the university since the course curriculum is quite diverse and offers practical learning.
Likes (Post study jobs): It depends on course to course. The job market is tough but preparation in advance can get you somewhere. There are many email newsletters that you can sign up for and the university career page also helps you prepare for interviews and get a placement.
Dislikes (Public transportation): There are quite a few bus stations and the train is 15/20 minutes walking distance. However it really depends on your accommodation and where you live in order to catch the bus. The city is very walkable, my accommodation is quite close by and the business school is a 15-minute walk from there.

The university was great and friendly.
Tips: It was difficult initially. The large Indian diaspora helped settle easily. The experience was great. However the employability factor is not great as you are supposed to figure that out on yourself. It all depends on one's perseverance. Given the tough job market conditions in the UK it is important to be proactive from the start of the academic journey.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The teaching is world class. It is world ranked. The teaching methodology is great, especially for business courses. The Professors are easy to talk to. They are helpful as well. In my department, the teaching methodology was all very different. For example, in one module named Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Creation, we had lectures, seminars and workshops. All super exciting and engaging.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): During 2023, the UK was slipping into recession. It was very difficult to secure an interview. For that reason, the employability is not satisfactory as compared to the fee charged. Generally, a package of 30000 is given. The job roles are typically graduate roles.

MSc in Food Science - Batch of 2023

The University of Leeds doesn't have an internship option available for master's.
Tips: Increased my confidence level and am very independent. Cultural changes were huge, but there will always be an Indian around you. It won't affect you much. No scholarship, did part-time for my allowance.
Likes (Quality of faculty): It's very easy accessible due to the online map system in the university app. All the departments follow the same teaching methods. What I found unique would be that there will be a single professor assigned to 5 students with whom we can make an appointment and get a 1:1 coaching. We find faculty members from all around the world.
Dislikes (Internships): The University of Leeds doesn't have an internship option available in Master's as far as I know. They do provide very strong guidance when it comes to job hunting. Easy access to career support. There will always be someone who is willing to listen and support you.

A place to improve our self confidence and experience.
Tips: We have to be ready to open up to ask all our doubts and clarifications. We have to spend a lot of time in self learning and be ready to research a lot. Many projects and assessments will be given, we have to give our own suggestions and ideas to develop those projects.
Likes (Part time work): There is a special office allocated on the campus for helping students to get into part time jobs. Those who really need part time can get their resume and approach the office that could help them find part time jobs in and around the campus. It depends on us, how we are planning to spend our time on part time as well as our academics. The average pay for a part time is 10 per hour, which is good enough for our groceries and general shopping.
Dislikes (Indian Food): It's difficult for us to find our cultural foods in this area. It is quite costly when compared to English foods. I could prefer or suggest that students cook for themselves which is far better as it's cost effective and it's healthier.
