Jadavpur University dream of every aspiring engineer.
Placements: Placement offers are quite good in our college. In my department, the placement percentage of students who opt for placement is 100%. The highest package offered in the last year was 26 LPA where as the average package for mechanical engineering was 8.5 LPA. In my course, our top recruiters are Caterpillar, Airbus, Tata Steel, Mahindra & Mahindra, PwC, Zs-Associate, etc. Internship opportunities are less as compared to the placement scenarios. The internship offers have come from Airbus, PwC, Tata Steel, and some others also.
Infrastructure: College infrastructure is average. There is a central library which is good in terms of the availability of books and journals. The Wi-Fi is fine but labs are not as good as per the expectations. Hostel rooms are also average. In each room, there are three students. The quality of food in the mess is bad. Hostel facilities are not so good. However, medical facilities are provided by the university. The sports and games are given priority and there are clubs also for the different games.
Faculty: Our faculty members are very qualified and knowledgeable. The relationship between teachers and students is quite good at the university. They teach in PPT mode most of the time, and are always available for help to the meritorious students. The course curriculum is also relevant if we talk about core engineering. The syllabus is very vast making the students industry-ready. Semester exams are moderate, and it is sometimes easy depending on the subjects.
Other: The mechanical engineering of Jadavpur University is quite good if you look at the other private colleges status (including CSE and IT branches also). The course is designed in such a way that the students can crack any competitive engineering exams like GATE, IES, etc. If there were some robotics subjects included it would be more better. The fests are very good and campus life is enjoyable. For different curricular activities there are many clubs also.

The college has a good campus, good education, good friends, and good teachers.
Placements: Our college is good for placements. People are too corporate here. Many students get offers in the USA, Germany, and many foreign countries to pursue higher education. Many students get selected by well-known MNCs. The scope of working for research is pretty well, and teachers help them a lot.
Infrastructure: Hostels are the most important things in a college. There are many hostels where students spend their daily lives. The hostel fee is very low, and anyone can afford it very easily. There are no seniors who ragged juniors. There is a very friendly nature in the hostels.
Faculty: Faculty members for any department are highly qualified and motivating for students. Teachers really want to teach us in a very friendly manner. They are available any time to help us in academics, non-academics, and any kind of problem that we face at that time. They fully guide us in any kind of competitive exams like GATE, ESE, etc.

Jadavpur University is good.
Placements: Almost 100% of students got placed in the 2024 B.Tech mechanical engineering batch. The highest salary package offered is 32 LPA. The lowest salary package offered is 8 LPA. PWC, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Bajaj Auto, Hero Motor, Caterpillar, etc., visit the college. Around 40% of students got internships from my course. The role offered is a manufacturing manager.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good not too much but it's okay. Every department has a departmental library, classrooms, and labs. Our college Wi-Fi is very good because we don't recharge any type of data pack on our mobile for using data. The hostel quality is very good. It has a study environment.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and friendly. Every teacher completed his/her studies from IITs or NITs or Jadavpur University. This college makes students well-educated and industry-ready. Semester exams are hard but our sir helps us with our study, so we do not face any type of problems in semester exams.
Other: I chose this course because I loved machines when my age was 10.

JU Mechanical Engineering course review.
Placements: JU has always held its repute for phenomenal placement states. For last 2 years mechanical engineering has been securing 100% placement with almost everyone in a non-MRC job. In mechanical we get so many decent core job offers that many other TIER-1 colleges fail to achieve.
Infrastructure: The rooms are equipped with projectors, campus-wide Wi-Fi is free and unlimited, and libraries are equipped with all necessary books. Laboratories are needed to be upgraded with modern infrastructures and in some cases, basic equipment. Some of the workshops are shut down due to lack of funds.
Faculty: Faculty members are all top-notch and friendly. We are free to talk to them anytime when necessary. They teach efficiently and keep the class more interactive than a one-way delivery. The course curriculum is large, wide-spread and gives everyone the best opportunity to choose for themselves. Semester exams are on a maintained standard. Difficult level is above GATE which lets us know the subjects more clearly and helps in cracking the GATE without additional coaching.
Other: As you must be aware JU takes feels equivalent to ZERO. Also, there are multiple scholarship opportunities available. The campus is always full of crowd. The presence of arts and Science in the same campus diversified the level of knowledge beyond the course which in turn helps us to earn confidence and soft skills. The annual cultural and teach-fests are amazing to watch and participate in.

Absolutely satisfied and proud of my campus environment, faculty strength and placement.
Placements: The college has a 100% placement record for the previous year's graduating class. Out of 105 students, 105 were placed. In my batch, 31 students have been placed from August to October. The highest package was 57 LPA, offered by Google, and the lowest package was 4.4 LPA, offered by LTI Mindtree. Top recruiting companies for my course are PwC, Caterpillar, Deloitte, Exxonmobil, ITC, Varroc, Bechtel, Tata Motors, TCS, Airbus, and many more. Approximately 32% of students in my stream were placed. The top roles offered were data analyst, R&D, supply chain management, design, and software development and management.
Infrastructure: The lab facilities are average, but the lab assistants are very good and the professors are quite helpful. The classrooms are well equipped. The hostel facility is outstanding, with good-quality food available in the mess and canteen. There are also facilities for sports and a gym. Medical facilities are good, and students have free access to KPC hospital.
Faculty: The teachers are very knowledgeable and helpful. The course provides a great foundation in engineering principles and industrial knowledge. However, the semester exams are difficult. The teachers set the standards for the questions, and you have to get at least 40 percent to pass.
Other: Jadavpur University is not comparable with any other. The atmosphere is outstanding here, and the culture and society are excellent for the progressive students. I chose this course for my interest in the mechanical field of engineering. The lab facilities might get improved a little bit.
Here fees are very minimum. It needs only INR 10,000 for academic purposes for the whole course. One gets a scholarship of INR 80,000 per year. Fest is outstanding here for long 9 days and you will see excellent bands. Many innovative events are arranged. Tech Fest is also arranged.

Placements: The 2024 batch of Mechanical Engineering has secured 100 percent placements. Our department has achieved a hat trick of 100 percent placements with this one. The highest package offered was 27 LPA, the lowest was 5.5 LPA, and the average was 10 LPA. Top recruiting companies included ExxonMobil, Airbus, Reliance, Bajaj Auto, Samsung, Kia, and Caterpillar, among others. Thirty percent of students got internships, mainly at ExxonMobil, Airbus, ITC, Bajaj Auto, Reliance, and AB InBev. The top roles offered were data analyst, FTE, systems manager, SWE, etc. The entire placement process is very transparent, and companies routinely visit the campus for the unique talent pool that JU offers.
Infrastructure: The campus has ample amenities, like a well-stocked library with up-to-date books, high-speed Wi-Fi, well-equipped laboratories, and experienced professionals as guides. It boasts some of the best workshop facilities in the country, CCTV-enabled classrooms with projectors, and ample seating arrangements. There are four canteens located at different corners of the university, and quality food is available at subsidized rates for students. A medical room with doctors is always ready to attend to students, and a good stock of medicines is available free of cost. There are facilities for table tennis, badminton, lawn tennis courts, a gymnasium, and other indoor games. A massive playground and an open-air theatre are also present.
Faculty: The faculty are highly educated and experienced. Almost 5-6 professors from the Mechanical Department make it to the Stanford University list of the top 2% of scientists globally. They are always ready to help whenever we face any difficulty and encourage students to nurture their ideas, even helping them in their entrepreneurial ventures. We work on a variety of projects that help us gain industry-ready skills. The curriculum is up-to-date and oriented to suit the needs of the industry. Their teaching style is very lucid and makes complex topics easy to understand. The semester exams are descriptive, and scoring is difficult if classes are not attended. The pass percentage is 40 percent.
Other: At a rank of 799, I could opt for a variety of courses like IT, IEE, and EE, but I went for ME because its faculty and infrastructure are unparalleled. Additionally, it is a stream that can never lose relevance. One can pursue coding alongside the course, which gives you added leverage compared to circuital branches. However, the curriculum should incorporate more software like Ansys to fulfill industry needs. There are multiple scholarship opportunities, such as the Alumni Association Scholarship and the SVMCM scholarship, etc. There are multiple fests like Srijan and Sanskriti, where talents are showcased. The campus comes alive during these periods, with crowds from other universities pouring in.

Our college has the lowest fees for engineering.
Placements: The percentage of students placed in my course is about 99%, which is the best thing in this college, especially my department. The highest and lowest of this college are also good.
The highest package, especially for my department, is 40 lakh, and the lowest is 5 lakh. About 90% of students got internships.
Infrastructure: This is the one thing I do not like about this college because if you see the placement and other things, it is good, but only the infrastructure is not good; it is below average, and there is no specific main building. And other things like Wi-Fi and labs are good.
Faculty: Beside the infrastructure, the faculty members, curriculum and exams of my course are well enough. The teachers are highly qualified and very helpful. There are many frequent curriculum activities related to tech, dance, and music. The semester exams are also not very tough or very easy.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest.

The best college in terms of ROI.
Placements: As of now, about 40% of students are placed even if the placement session has just started....The mechanical engineering department has achieved a placement record of 100% in 2023 and 2024. Top recruiting companies involve ExxonMobil, ITC, Caterpillar, Airbus, Bajaj, Eveready, Ather Energy, etc. The highest core package was about 15Lpa and the Average package was about 9.5Lpa.
As jadavpur university only allows 2 months of internships. So about 30% of students got on-campus internships in companies such as ExxonMobil, ITC, Pidilite, Reliance etc.
Infrastructure: Wifi connectivity is available for everyone. Classrooms have AC, depending on the department. Libraries are Air-conditioned with huge collections of books, there are also facilities of digital library. Labs are also well equipped.
The Hostels are one of the best considering the rent of only Rs. 20 per month. I don't know the exact price but it is somewhere around Rs. 20-30.
Faculty: The professors at Jadavpur University are among the best. Few of these professors are ranked in the top 2%, 10% of researchers in the world. They are more than qualified having completed PhDs and Mtech from IISc, Top IITs.
The coursework is designed in such a way as to give exposure to new technologies and make students relevant to the competition. The curriculum gives you chances to explore advanced technologies.
Other: I was always interested in core engineering branches and my inclination towards machines, insisted me to take up mechanical engineering. The best things in my course are the clubs like Xlr8 and ISHRAE which are completed based on the core subjects.
I feel that the labs need an upgrade, however they are well-equipped, but there is scope for improvement.
Jadavpur university organises fest all round the year, however, the peak time is in march-may time.
