The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test, popularly known as MHT CET, is one of the biggest state-level entrance exams for engineering, pharmacy, and agriculture admissions in Maharashtra. Every year, lakhs of students appear for the examination to get admission into top colleges across the state.

This decision has been take to ensure there are no clashes with the national-level JEE Mains exam and students get enough gap between both sessions of CET.

What is MHT CET?

MHT CET is a computer-based entrance examination conducted for admission to professional courses. The paper is based on the Maharashtra State Board syllabus of Classes 11 and 12. The exam is held for:

  • Engineering courses (B.E./B.Tech)
  • Pharmacy courses (B.Pharm and Pharm.D)
  • Agriculture-related courses

MHT CET 2027 Exam Dates (Expected)

The official schedule for MHT CET 2027 has not been announced yet. According to the media reports, the session 1 exam dates are likely to fall between December 15 and January 15. Keeping this in mind and based on the previosu several year's schedule, we have prepared the folowing table to give and expected timeline.

MHT CET 2027 Eligibility Criteria

Before filling the MHT CET application form, candidates were advised to check the eligibility criteria as only those who meet the conditions will be offered admission. If any student is found ineligible at the time of admission, their candidature will be cancelled, irrespective of their performance in the exam. The basic MHT CET eligibility criteria is given below:

  • Candidates must be Indian citizen.
  • Must have passed or be appearing in class 12 with Physics and Mathematics along with Biology/Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science/IT/Agriculture/Engineering Graphics/ Business Studies/Technical Vocational subject or passed a Diploma in Engineering and Technology.
  • Candidate must have secured at least 45% marks in class 12 (40% for the reserved category).
  • No age limit to apply for MHT CET.

Q:   Is there any mock seat allotment in MHT CET counselling?
A: 

No, there is no mock seat rounds in MHT CET counselling. The CET Cell conducts MHT CET counselling in three or four rounds. Candidates after registering for the counselling have to enter their preferred choice of college and branch in the order of preference. The allotment of seats will be made on the basis of All India Rank and choices filled by the candidate.

Q:   Is there a negative marking in MHT CET?
A: 

There is no negative marking in MHT CET. In the Maharashtra CET exam, Physics and Chemistry question is of 1 marks. No marks are deducted for unattempted questions or incorrection answers. 

Q:   Is it possible to get 120-150 marks in MHT CET if I am scoring 100 marks in mock test?
A: 

Getting good marks in MHT CET mock tests do not guarantee that you will also score good marks in the actual exam. However, if you are solving the mock tests regularly, it will surely help in increasing the accuracy, time management and performance of exam.

MAHARASHTRA CET CELL mock tests are free and can be downloaded or practiced online. It is very important that CET aspirants regularly solve mock tests. It is advised that students solve mock tests in a planned manner. For each subject, students should solve subject/topic wise mock tests during the preparation and solve full length mock tests one month before the exam.

MHT CET 2027 Application Form

To fill MHT CET application form, candidates must be ready with important details like personal details, educational details, and communication details etc. Check detailed process below to apply for MHT CET 2026:

Step 1: Registration at CET portal

  • Candidates have to first create an account at CET portal. To do so, visit official website - cetcell.mahacet.org.
  • Next, enter details asked like your name, email ID, mobile number and date of birth.
  • Thereafter, create a password and click on ‘Register’ button to complete registration process.
  • This creates your MHT CET login.

Email verification

  • After registration details are submitted,  a verification link is sent to email IDs of candidates.
  • Candidates have to open their registered email and click on verification link sent to them.
  • Only after verification, registration gets completed.

DigiLocker Link

  1. Once verification is done, candidates are redirected to the MHT CET registration screen.
  2. Click on "Proceed to DigiLocker". 
  3. Thereafter, add your Aadhaar number and verify OTP sent.
  4. Then verify with 6-digit pin.
  5. After this, DigiLocker will open.
  6. If Digilocker has your APAAR ID and Aadhaar Card, select them and click on "verify". If APAAR ID and Aadhaar Card are not available in Digiclocker, first add them and then proceed with verification.
  7. This connects DigilLocker to MHT CET registration portal.

Step 2: Fill MHT CET form and pay fee

  • To fill MHT CET form, candidates have to first select CET they want to apply for.
  • Then, select preferred exam city, qualification and category details.
  • Next, candidates have to pay applicable application fee.
  • After application fee is paid, candidates have to take a printout of filled and submitted form. Keep this document safe for all future reference.

MHT CET Exam Pattern 2027

The MHT CET 2027 exam pattern will be given in the official notification. The exam pattern mentions the marking scheme, subjects, number of questions and more. Candidates must refer to the MHT CET exam pattern before preparing for the test.

It will help students in analyzing their preparation level and finding their mistakes

Q:   Do I need to attempt all the questions in MHT CET exam?
A: 

It is not compulsory to attempt all the question in MHT CET exam. Students are advised to attempt only those questions for which  they know the correct answer. Questions for which the answer is not sure should be left. However, as there is NO negative marking in MHT CET exam,  questions for which answer is doubtful can be attempted in last. Students gets All India Rank based on the marks they secure in exam and gets admission based on that rank.

MHT CET Syllabus

The MHT CET 2027 syllabus has yet to be released. The syllabus includes topics from Physics, Chemistry, Maths and Biology from both classes 11th & 12th.
