Fresh Application Facility in Case of Error in JEE Main 2027 Form

NTA allowed Session 1 candidates to submit a fresh application to correct errors, even after generating an application number and paying the fee. The conditions are:

  • Process: You get a new application number and repeat the full registration.

  • Which form counts: Only the latest application counts. It must have the fee paid and a confirmation page generated.

  • Fee: Fee paid on an earlier application is not refunded or adjusted against the new form. Candidates have to pay the application fee in full again.

  • Multiple application numbers: Holding more than one number is not treated as unfair means (UFM). Appearing in the exam using more than one number can be treated as UFM.

  • Attempts: A fresh application is not an extra attempt. You may appear only once per session.

How to Prepare for JEE Main 2027 Exam

Session 1 starts on 20 January 2027, about ten weeks away. Session 2 gives a second chance in April. Candidates should plan for Session 1, and treat it as a full attempt rather than a trial. Check JEE Mains 2027 preparation tips below:

Set the base

  1. Download the NTA syllabus PDF and tick off chapters you have finished.

  2. Finish any pending Class 11 and Class 12 chapters first. Unfinished chapters cost the most marks.

  3. Use NCERT for Chemistry first. Many inorganic and organic questions follow NCERT facts and reactions.

  4. Practise JEE Main previous year papers. Use NTA's official question papers. Treat memory-based papers from coaching sites as practice only, not as answer authorities.

  5. Plan around boards. If you are in Class 12, block your board exam dates now and reserve revision time before Session 2.

Weekly plan for the next ten weeks

Weeks

Focus

1 to 4

Complete remaining chapters. Solve topic-wise previous year questions after each chapter

5 to 7

Revise by subject. Take one full-length mock every 3 to 4 days and review every mistake

8 to 9

One full mock every alternate day. Practise in the exam time slot you will get

10

Light revision of formulas, reactions and error notes. Sleep on schedule. No new topics

Preparation Rules that work on JEE Mains 2027 exam day

  • Accuracy beats attempt count. Each wrong answer costs 1 mark and removes the 4 you could have earned.

  • Treat numericals as core. All 5 numerical questions per subject are compulsory, and there is no choice to skip them.

  • Attempt your strongest subject first. Mark questions to return to and do not stay stuck on one.

Check important preparation articles:

Benefits of Two JEE Mains Sessions

If Session 1 goes well, you can still appear in Session 2 to improve your score. If it goes badly, use the gap to fix weak chapters. Do not skip Session 1 to prepare for Session 2 unless you have a clear reason. Each session is one of your six attempts.
