The National Academy of Legal Studies and Research was founded in 1998. It is located in Secunderabad Hyderabad has been recognised by the University Grants Commission. NALSAR has been ranked 3rd in the law category by NIRF and accredited grade "A" by NAAC.

Nalsar University of law, the Hyderabad based Law college, is quiet famous when it comes to its placement stats . This university offers great placements to its students . NALSAr University of Law offers admission to LLM programme through CLAT score. To get admission to the LLM programme, candidates must fulfill the following conditions:
1. LLB or any equivalent degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate (For candidates belonging to General/ OBC/ PwD/ NRI/ PIO/ OCI category),
or
2. LLB or any equivalent degree with a minimum of 45% aggregate (For candidates belonging to SC/ ST category).

NALSAR admission to the law courses is based on candidates' performance in the CLAT entrance exam, followed by counselling rounds.
