CAT Result Date 2025: How to check IIM CAT Score @iimcat.ac.in

CAT exam result preparation takes 2-3 weeks as the procisiona answer keys and objections raised by candidates are evaluated before it. Also, the number of test takers is in lakhs and to prepare the scorecard of every candidate requires time due to normalization process and percentile calculation. Before 2022, the CAT exam result use to be released in the first week of January. So, as CAT 2025 candidates wait for their result, here are the previous years CAT result dates. 

CAT result 2025 will be available only in online mode and candidates will have to use their CAT login ID to see it. Here's how to check:

How to Check CAT 2025 Result on Mobile?

Candidates can check result on smartphone as well. However, it is advised to download it on laptop or a desktop. Check below, how to download CAT result 2025 on mobile:

• Open a web browser on mobile
• Type CAT exam url
• Click on 'CAT 2025 scorecard'
• Enter your application number and password
• Click on scorecard option to check and download

CAT scorecard 2025 will be released as a downloadable PDF. Candidates must check their name, photo, signature, category, etc. In case of any error, they must reach out to the examination authority and get it rectified. The following information will be mentioned CAT exam result 2025.

CAT percentile is basically the rank of a candidate among all test takers. For CAT 2025 percentile calculation, every test taker's raw scores will be calculated as per the marking scheme. Once the raw scores are determined, they will be normalised to arrive at scaled CAT score. Then the CAT percentile will be calculated from the scaled CAT score. 

Calculation of CAT percentile 2025 will include three steps. Check below the steps of CAT result calculation: 

1. Each candidate is given marks as per number of correct and incorrect attempts,
2. Total score calculated by adding +3 for every correct attempt and deducting -1 for every incorrect attempt.
3. Thereafter, these section-wise and overall scores (raw scores) are normalised to arrive at a scaled CAT score.
4. The normalised scores are converted into percentiles which are reported in the CAT scorecards.

 Shiksha CAT Percentile Predictor:

CAT exam is conducted in three slots and the test form of every slot has unique set of questions. Thus, it is quite possible that one CAT exam slot can have tougher questions than another. To ensure that no candidate has any advantage or disadvantage over another due to difference in question paper sets, CAT authority follows a score normalisation process where the marks of every test taker are scaled to bring it on the same plane. Parameters taken into consideration during CAT normalisation process are:

• Highest score

• Lowest score

• Mean score

• Median score

• Top 10 percentiles

• Lowest 10 percentiles

The CAT 2025 result will be prepared on the basis of normalised score and the CAT percentile will be calculated only after the raw CAT scores are scaled and normalised. The CAT normalisation process is based on GATE scoring process and the calculations are based on statistic equations.

After the declaration of CAT exam result 2025, shortlisting of candidates for PI round will be done. This process will be conducted simultaneously by IIMs and non-IIMs. The PI round will include Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). Institutes will select candidates on the basis of their CAT 2025 score and academic record. 

 Candidates who will meet the minimum CAT cut off, will be required to fill an online form on the official website of the IIMs (and other institutes). Candidates will have to fill the PI shortlist form within the deadline to be selected. Selection is based on candidate's CAT score and academic record (Class 10 and Class 12 marks). 

Thereafter, the institutes shortlist candidates for WAT/PI. For CAT 2025, the IIMs will release MBA/PGP shortlist in January 2026. Personal Interview rounds will be conducted in March-April and the final result will be announced by May 2026.

The IIM admission process consists of three stages. Given below is a brief description of IIM admission process:

1. Screening of candidates on the basis of CAT score and academic record
2. Written Ability Test and Personal Interview (WAT/PI) round
3. Final selection of candidates for admission

The top IIMs conduct admission process individually, where are the 9 new/baby IIMs conduct admissions jointly. The newer IIMs select candidates through a Common Admission Process or IIM CAP.

MBA Admission Through CAT: Other Top B-Schools

The admission process of other top B-Schools is same as IIMs, i.e. candidate shortlisting and WAT-PI. Other top MBA colleges too shortlist candidates for WAT-PI round on the basis of CAT cut offs. shortlisting.The cut offs are determined by institutes individually. For admission to non-IIMs, candidates will be required to fill institute application forms. The MBA application window of top B-Schools open from August onwards. Candidates must keep a check on the MBA application deadline of their preferred B-School.

The IIMs do not publish CAT cut offs on any public platform. However, one can estimate cut offs by analysing previous years' selection of candidates (their percentile). In top IIMs, cut offs are usually high at 95-100 percentile (varies category-wise) The below given CAT cut offs are estimated minimum percentiles based on previous years' trends and certain parameters.
