University of Barcelona Admissions 2025: Application Deadline, Requirements & Costs

The University of Barcelona requires international students to submit an online application and submit other material as well as a copy of the application. The programs have also different criteria and requirements. The university offers admission to only 69 applicants out of every 100 that apply making it a moderately selective university but not hard to get into.

The University of Barcelona offers PhD in Economics as a full time four year program and can be completed in seven years via part time mode with one year fee of EURO 540,92 (INR 49,45,296). The program is accredited after a holistic evaluation by the Catalan University Quality Assurance Agency (AQU), which acknowledges the quality and impact of the research carried out within the PhD framework. Former PhD students have been placed in academic research institutions in the US and Europe and international organizations and governmental institutions. On the other hand, the PhD program in Applied Economics at UAB provides a unique offer in the Spanish and European university system. The program is oriented to the preparation of researchers with a sound knowledge in economic theory, quantitative techniques and methodological tools, which allows them to develop an original and high quality applied economic research. Several graduates from the programme are working in different areas of public administration (Generalitat, Ministries, CTESC, etc.) and national and international organisations, both public and private.

The University of Barcelona offers a two year E-MBA program. There are 25 student vacancies every intake. The small classes ensure a personal approach and direct contact between lecturers and students. The tuition fee for the academic course 2024-2025 of the Executive MBA is EURO 12,000 (INR 10,97,272). There is also an administrative fee of EURO 70 (INR 6,400). However, the eligibility criteria to apply for an Executive MBA is mentioned below:
