After completing their degree in Canada, students who wish to stay back and work in Canada need to apply for a PGWP Canada (Post-Graduation Work Permit). In order to be eligible for a PGWPP, your course must be at least 8 months in duration. If your course is more than 8 months but less than 2 years, the duration of your PGWPP will be equal to the duration of your course. If your course is for 2 years or more, your PGWPP may be for 3 years. Here are the application details for the post-study work permit in Canada:

  • You will have 180 days after your graduation to apply for the PGWP Canada. Your Canada student visa must be valid during these 180 days.
  • You must have a degree, diploma, official letter from your academic institution, or an official transcript.
  • The fee for the PGWP Canada is CAD 255, and the processing time is 148 days for online applications and 25 days for paper-based applications.
