Here is an account of Ankur Halwai sharing his journey right from his decision to go for an education abroad to what all steps he took to get admission to the course of his choice.

Studyabroad.shiksha.com got in touch with one of the students – Ankur, who shared with us about his experience of his admission journey to Clark University in MS Computer Science.

I completed BE in 2014 and since then I am working as a Software Engineer in an MNC. I started applying by end of 2015. Initially, I wanted to go for Computer Science and got admit from two universities and after comparing the course structure, I selected MS IT from Clark University, as it also suits my requirement of enhancing my management skills.

Share your journey while applying abroad

Initially, I was totally confused like all other students and most of my friends applied through best counselors in India. I took a chance and registered at Shiksha Study Abroad as I found it genuine and immediately a counselor contacted me. My counselor shared a list of nine universities with me, out of which I selected six of them and applied.

Also, Shiksha helped me in preparing the Statement of Purpose and it was a very well drafted SOP when I compared it with my friends’ SOP who has given a huge amount of money for these services. I also recommended my friends to opt for Shiksha.com and they also agreed with me.

I don’t want to compare but counselors from other agencies take a huge amount of money and do not respond on time, whereas I am associated with Shiksha from last two years and never faced this type of situation. Whenever I tried to contact my counselor, they immediately reverted to my queries.

How did you come across Shiksha?

I searched online and came across different websites along with Shiksha.com and got a call from different counselors.  I also visited one of the counselors from a different agency and they recommended me to apply to some of the universities without considering my background. They asked me to apply to the universities they have a tie-up with. Whereas the response from Shiksha was very good and genuine.

How was your experience with Shiksha?

At that time my other friends were also applying and the response which I got from Shiksha was friendly whereas the other counselors were responding as per their own policies and were not prompt. I always got help when I asked for it and each and every query of mine was solved satisfactorily.

It was quite hard to fill different forms while going through the application process but my counselor shared PDF files of different forms which I needed to fill while applying, so the whole process was not only helpful but also very fast.

Is Shiksha services a better idea?

Since starting, I thought it is a better idea, what I saw from my friend’s experience, although they were paying for the application services, still, they were not getting the appropriate response from their counselors. To be frank, I think I got the best SOPs and LORs from Shiksha. I even checked my SOPs and LORs from my friend, who is a blogger, and he also said that the documents are mind-blowing.

I have a gap of two years, which was a big hurdle as it was difficult to get a job in India, however, in my SOP this thing was explained beautifully. During those two years, I pursued some courses which were reflected perfectly in my SOP. This helped me in getting the admission from the Clark University.

Why Shiksha and not consultants?

The counselors at Shiksha are professional and talking to them is like talking to a friend. They discuss each and everything in detail and deal in a professional manner. Other consultants have tied up with different universities abroad and they focus more on those universities, however, at Shiksha you can ask about other universities and apply to them as well.
