In the QS World University Rankings, the Employer Reputation and Employment Outcomes metrics form the core of the "Employability and Outcomes" lens. The metric ‘Employer Reputation (15% weight)’ demonstrates how global employers perceive an institution's graduates. The metric ‘Employment Outcomes (5% weight)’ measures an institution's historical track record of career success and real-world societal impact based on two factors:

  1. Alumni Impact Index (50%):- This parameter awards points to a university if its alumni hold C-suite roles at top international firms (like the Fortune 500) or win major global awards

  2. Graduate Employment Rate (50%):- This parameter measures the percentage of graduates who successfully transition into paid, full-time or part-time employment within 15 months of graduation (excluding those opting for voluntary work, military service or further studies)

Top French Universities Graduate Employability: GEURS and Times Higher Education

Another ranking scale that measures the employability and employment outcomes of global universities is the Global Employability University Ranking and Survey (GEURS). Unlike QS, which uses structural and mixed data metrics (like employment tracking and databases), THE’s employability ranking is designed by the French HR consultancy - ‘Emerging’ and is strictly based on direct employer assessment.

The 2026 edition of these rankings accumulated a total of 119,967 votes from 12,350 international recruiters and managing directors across 32 countries. To justify why they vote for specific universities (like HEC Paris or CentraleSupélec), employers evaluate universities based on 7 Key Employability Drivers:

  1. Expertise

  2. Graduate Skills

  3. Specialisation

  4. Social Impact & Leadership
