University that helped me shape well

Tips: The culture of Canada is very welcoming and since there are many immigrants, it is easier to blend in. Carleton University is very welcoming in terms of international students. However, the scholarships are very rare for Canadians but you can secure a spot as a Teaching/Research Assistant. I would recommend doing prior research before arriving in terms of coursework. Pro tip- Connect to your seniors over LinkedIn or Facebook.

Likes (Safety): I can travel alone even after midnight. At one time, I remember I was travelling alone on public transport and even though I was the only passenger in the bus, I still felt safe. The Downtown here in Ottawa has a lot of homeless but they mind their own business and don't charm you in any way.

Dislikes (Internships): Internships are very hard to score as there are very few. Most internships are available in summer only so you have to adjust your courses accordingly. There are available internships related to construction but you need to apply very pro-actively in order to secure one as there is a lot of competition.

Student life is good to enjoy.

Tips: You should go to the university website and check the syllabus for the course. Apply and join the course only after reading the description. If you are very interested in one specific course then you contact the professor for supervision Masters. Public transportation can be a little tricky to get around.

Likes (Student Life): There are many events happening on and off campus. There are multiple on campus cafes and food joints. The student association organizes events for students. You can enjoy meals in the summer outside. You can go to the various services available on campus.

Dislikes (Public transportation): The system is not reliable. The buses might get delayed. Sometimes the train is under maintenance. Having a private vehicle is the better way for transportation and you can think about a bike in summer but that is difficult in winter because of the snow.
