Master in Entrepreneurship - Batch of 2027

Getting into a B-school to become an Entrepreneur with a Technical background.
Tips: Be a little bit professionally oriented; have a bit of financial, Excel & PPT knowledge. Know how companies work, at least the basics. There are many scholarships available that can be availed of through the website. The professors & the environment are really good here.
Likes (Safety): Leipzig feels genuinely safe, and after living here for over a year, I haven't run into a single bad situation. The area around HHL—right along Jahnallee and near Clara-Zetkin-Park—is super calm, green, and easy to walk around at any time of day. There’s a constant public presence throughout the city, and the local police and transit security (Ordnungsamt) keep things feeling controlled without being overbearing. People here are generally respectful, and walking back to your apartment late at night after a long study session at the HHL library feels completely fine. The only place where you want to keep your wits about you is around Leipzig Hauptbahnhof (the central station) late at night—like any major European train hub, there are homeless individuals and loiterers hanging around, but they keep to themselves and don't cause trouble. Overall, it's a very secure city to live and study in.
Dislikes (Indian Food): A little bit expensive Indian food in Leipzig and also so many options, but just very few are doing authentic food. But you can find at Hauptbahnhof & at the city center good restaurants with some authentic taste at least. I loved one, but it is a bit away from the main city; its name is Mango Lassi.

Master in Management - Batch of 2026

Solid Germany university
Tips: It's a great college if your ambition and motivation are clear. You will have plenty of opportunities to get good internships in Germany, which is basically essential for you to get a full-time job here. Overall, I can say the student life for the first nine months might not be the best, but the reason for it not being the best is because everyone is really stressed with internship applications and also the coursework and the course loads. Student life, however, does get significantly better after the first summer because then you have your exchange. You can also go abroad, and then you also have internships. The last three months, when you come back to university, everyone is much more relaxed because everyone has gone through the hardest part already. In the end, it's only more about getting the final job done.
Likes (Post study jobs): The university has one of the best salaries according to Financial Times rankings and basically comes in the top five according to the adjusted US dollar salaries. The reason I rate this a five is because in Germany there is a trend that you have to do internships first, and getting those internships at HHL gets very helpful because the alumni network is very strong and everyone is highly motivated from December onwards. Like, the university starts in September, and everyone is completely dialed in from December to get their internships in the summer, basically July. You have a great group of students who are motivated around you, you have a great alumni network, and then you also have a great career team that gives you access to a solid network and good advice.
Dislikes (Student Life): If you're coming to HHL Leipzig, don't expect the massive, wild campus social scene you might get at a massive university in the US or big-city schools in London or Portugal. Because the programs here are so intense and heavily focused on high project output, you basically won't have a life for the first nine months. It's a total grind, but honestly, it’s a double-edged sword that pays off. The saving grace is the mandatory exchange term and required internship built right into the curriculum for your graduation credits. Those two things completely make up for the non-existent social life at the start. You get to experience student life in an entirely different country for a term, and the internship gives you the exact kind of real-world German corporate exposure you need to actually land a full-time job here after graduation.

MBA - Batch of 2026

Happy to be here, but the school could do better on certain aspects.
Tips: If you're eyeing HHL Leipzig for an MBA, the biggest selling point is that it is a fantastic, highly respected business school that won’t absolutely bankrupt you. Leipzig itself has a way lower cost of living compared to major hubs like Munich or Frankfurt, making it perfect if you're trying to stretch a tight budget. That being said, you need to know exactly what you're signing up for regarding the job hunt. Landing a great post-MBA role in Germany takes a massive amount of personal hustle. You can't just coast on the school's reputation—you’ve got to network like crazy and actively work on your German language skills from day one to stand out. The silver lining is the administration staff on campus. They are incredibly supportive and actually know how to guide international students through the local bureaucracy. Navigating the Ausländerbehörde for visa renewals and residence permits can be a total nightmare but HHL's team provides solid paperwork and guidance that makes securing your post-study visa extension a whole lot easier.

HHL is like a cult of really smart and ambitious students.
Tips: This is a highly competitive environment with a strong focus on consulting and finance. Students who are absolutely sure about their path are recommended. It can also be hard to secure internships and jobs compared to German students if language is not mastered till C1. Lastly, the university is worth the investment, considered the top business school, and also regarded by big corporations.
Likes (Student Life): It's the most ideal city for students. With plenty of things planned around student life and a lot of park and greenery. The food, cafeteria, and cheap student housing also make it affordable compared to other German cities. Then, since the campus is beautifully located with the University of Leipzig sports campus, there are plenty of sports activities. Then you also have the fun club culture of Leipzig. We at HHL have specific club references. You'll know once you are in.
Dislikes (Part time work): It is not advisable to work part-time since the university work is a lot and important in itself. If planning to come as an international student. Focus on your studies, internship hunt, and German language. All the precious students didn't get any side mini jobs. Although, you can work as a working student if you are able to secure one at a good company.

The college was strict and maintained discipline throughout.
Tips: Before taking admission in any college every student should know about the facilities available there so that they do not face any problems during their studies. There is also a scholarship facility at this college. If you study well you can apply for a scholarship. After I enrolled here there have been many changes in my life. I used to apply for jobs and I would get the jobs but I could get paid only after a full year. I got such jobs but I needed a monthly salary so I could not do it. When I applied for a job with a website I was unable to work because I did not have a computer. I was in college the rules there were very strict which was also right for us because we were away from home so the college people had to keep an eye on all of us so that we could stay there. We could live well and the rules there were good for everyone. There is also a library there where we can sit comfortably and study.

It’s not vibrant like in India but still you can explore to get new contact.
Tips: Management Studies are really easy in Germany however, engineering is of little harder. However you must look around for a working student job from the start as this will help you to get a job. Scholarships aren’t much available as it is a private university. However, public universities give it. Please refer to daad.de. The course is ok, but without previous work experience, it won’t help you much.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transport especially U-Bahn (metro), works really well. Whereas, suburban and trains won’t be on time. You can get a 58€ ticket to go all around Germany. However can’t be used on high speed trains. Moreover, if you plan to stay away from the city. I would suggest that you get a license and a car
Dislikes (Post study jobs): During your university studies, you must put your maximum effort into getting a working student job. This is the best option. Job hunting after completing your studies is really harder because most of the companies want to have your working skills. Currently, I’m working as a working student in inventory management and it might become my permanent job. Please note, I’m here for almost 7 years and I can speak German. You require a good German proficiency for management-related jobs.

College is amazing. Never say no to any problem.
Tips: Before joining this college, students should know that this is gonna be hectic. You have to juggle studies, assignments, part-time, and home chores altogether every day. So you should be mentally prepared for this otherwise, it will be overwhelming for you. The college is beyond satisfactory in terms of quality of education. However, I suggest you learn German before coming.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty has a very diverse background and are very knowledgeable. They never say no to any query. The study material is amazing. Every day you'll feel you have learnt something new and something more valuable. Everything is based on real time, including stock prices.
Dislikes (Part time work): I'm at the Frankfurt campus, which is a bit smaller than the Dortmund campus. Because of the size, the options for part-time jobs on campus are limited. However, there are plenty of part-time jobs available in the city. You just have to be proactive and look for opportunities everywhere.

A good college with excellent faculty but lacks recreational facilities.
Tips: Germany does everything on paper, not digital. Get ready to do a lot of paperwork for official documents and things. Your registration and applications for everything are on paper and have to be sent by post. Electricity costs will gradually rise because of inflation and the Ukraine war, and expect high rents. Apart from these, people are very nice and helpful, the place is very clean and beautiful.
Likes (Indian Food): There are a lot of Indian restaurants here in Frankfurt, however, they are expensive. I prefer cooking at home, you can buy Indian spices and stuff at Asian stores. Overall, you can easily cook Indian food here at home, which is better than eating outside.
Dislikes (Value for money): Compared to other Universities here, this one is a bit more expensive. The campus doesn't have any sports or recreational facilities, it is only one academic building with a cafeteria. You can expect to have mostly studies and some coffee sessions with your classmates.

One needs to be prepared before starting their journey.
Tips: MIB is quite a hectic course so be mentally prepared for that. It is important to thoroughly research and speak to previous students at the university so that there are fewer surprises going into the course. The cultural shock is going to be there and eventually get better with time. You have to be ready before starting the course, try going through the curriculum and prepare the modules. This way, the classes will be less stressful.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation has never really caused me a problem here in Dortmund. There is the U-Bahn, S-Bahn and the buses which all operate according to a schedule and are relatively on time. Plus with the semester ticket, it is very convenient to move around in NRW (the entire state) at no additional cost.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I am still looking for a job, it is quite stressful to find both accommodation and a job in Germany so be mentally prepared for that. The course that I was enrolled in was quite hectic which meant that we did not have much time to work if we wanted to attend lectures.

It's a great place to be, sometimes hectic but fun.
Tips: I would suggest to go for a public university only because, the study schedule here sometimes becomes very hectic for a student and then you've to manage other things as well, such as cooking. Rest I think the city is amazing and I am loving it already ( been here for more than 3 months now).
Likes (Safety): Unlike India, you can travel here at night or any time of the day without worrying. It's a safe country, especially for students. People are friendly and helpful. The younger generation is more polite. One can face language barriers here but you'll like it more if you speak German.
Dislikes (Value for money): In my opinion, private universities charge a lot of money and the class schedule is also very hectic. One should look for public universities first. They don't have student dorms here and students from our university can't opt for any other student dorms, they'll have to go for private accommodations which are expensive.
