How i survived my college phase.
Tips: First of all be mentally prepared to struggle. When you will land here you will be filled with enthusiasm but it will vanish. Language barriers. Cultural difference. Indian food problem. With university, course and country, I am fully satisfied. You must be prepared to fight the harsh winter weather.
Likes (Post study jobs): The reason I rated post-study jobs so highly isn’t because massive corporations are coming to campus to recruit us—that’s just not how medical employment works. Instead, the university gives you a massive leg up by setting up direct pipelines into the local hospital network after graduation. Once you finish your degree and pass the state accreditation exams, you can basically apply to any hospital or clinic on your own across Russia.
As a fresh graduate, you start out in a junior doctor or general practitioner role, usually working as a primary care physician. The starting salary kicks off at around 60,000 rubles a month, which is a pretty solid base for a freshman medic. Plus, if you want to specialize later, the university hospital connections make it way easier to transition into a proper residency spot.
Dislikes (Part time work): The off-campus jobs are minimal. Quality jobs and jobs related to the field are fewer and competitive. Off-campus jobs are a lot, including working at KFC and Burger King as a helper. The timetable is really hectic until the 3rd year. After the third year we can easily manage. The average payout is around 2000-2500 rubles for an 8-hour shift.

Kemerovo State Medical University is good and affordable for pursuing MBBS.
Tips: In this country, it is almost winter all year round, and the temperature can sometimes drop to -50 degrees Celsius. There is a language barrier that makes it difficult to communicate. You do not need any scholarships to attend this university. You only need to have passed the NEET exam and a test administered by the university. To come here, you will need a passport and warm winter clothes. The public transportation system is good, convenient, and affordable. The price for a bus ticket is 34 rubles, which is less than the price of a cab. However, sometimes it is difficult to access a bus, so we have to take a cab. I am satisfied with the university and the course I am taking.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are very few Indian food options here. There are a lot of non vegetarian options but very few vegetarian options. So if you are a vegetarian you will need to bring some food items from your home country and cook them yourself.

The university has strong curriculum and numerous extra curricular activities.
Tips: Before joining this college, students must know that they must come with Indian spices, as there are no Indian food options. The university provides study books, so it is not necessary to bring books from India. The university is safe for foreign students and is registered with both NMC and WHO. The climate is extreme, with temperatures reaching -40 degrees Celsius in winter and +25 to +30 degrees Celsius in summer.
Likes (Value for money): The quality of education at my university is good, especially for practical work. The faculty provides us with live dead bodies for studying anatomy and microscopes for histology. In addition, the university is good for sports.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are no more food options for vegetarians. If you think of self-cooking, vegetables are expensive, especially if you are vegan. There are no vegan restaurants and no Indian food options. There are some Indian messes, but they are expensive.

Value for money, comfortable study and qualified teachers.
Tips: Students should know that Kemerovo State Medical University is a low-budget institution that provides a comfortable study environment and qualified teachers. The university also admits more students than they have seats for so there are more than thirty students in a group and the tutor does not have time to listen to all the students. However the university is located in an industrial city with many factories and restaurants, so students can find part-time work to supplement their income.
Likes (Part time work): Kemerovo is an industrial city with many factories and restaurants. I was able to find part-time work in the city and I even worked with Russians, which helped me develop my language skills.
Dislikes (Student Life): The student life at Kemerovo State Medical University is not very good. There are few tourist attractions in the city and the hostel rooms are not renovated. The hostel rent is high compared to the rent paid by students who live in rooms. The university admits more students than they have seats so there are more than thirty students in a group.

The college follows NMC guidelines.
Tips: Students should know that the college follows NMC guidelines and must follow the FMGE rule. They should also know about the hostel facilities, total tuition fees, education system, total cost of study, and teaching methods before applying to the university. Because of the heavy snowfall in the area, a cab is an impractical and expensive mode of transportation. However, public transportation is a good option for students because it is safe, affordable, and provides access to all parts of the campus. There are not many part-time job opportunities for Indian students in Russia. There are not many vacancies for Indian students, and if we do get a job, it is very difficult to manage both our studies and work schedules.

The university is amazing and there are lot of extracurriculars for students.
Tips: The biggest cultural shift was in language. Most Russians don't speak or understand English, and even some of the teachers don't speak English. If you are one of the top 10 students, you can get a discount on your tuition fees. My university is nice, the teachers are helpful, and most of the Russians are friendly.
Likes (Part time work): On-campus students can work as translators if they have a good knowledge of the Russian language. Off-campus students have various work options, such as working in a factory or shop. The pay is quite good, for example, 2000-2500 per day, and it can vary depending on the location of the job.
Dislikes (Indian Food): As a vegetarian, I found very few vegetarian options available at this university. In fact, most of the vegetarian options were sweet, so I ended up cooking for myself most of the time. Some of the vegetarian options available were cheese bread, shorma, French fries, and milkshakes. Cheese bread costs between 100 and 300 rubles, depending on the place you eat. Shorma cost between 250 and 350 rubles, and French fries cost 250 rubles.

College is new, not ready for 150-200 students every year.
Tips: The university is accredited and students should try to connect with the alumni. Beware of student agents who may try to steer you toward a particular university. Use the university's official website to get more information. Don't be swayed by low tuition fees. Also consider the city where the university is located, as it may not provide the international exposure you seek.
Likes (Safety): There are security cameras everywhere. Smoke detectors are in every room, and the fire alarm system is very efficient. The police are helpful and friendly towards Indian students. I never worried about walking alone at midnight in the city areas. There are very few cases of theft because the punishments are severe.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): After getting your degree the highest salary you can earn in 2-3 years is 1 lakh per month. This is a low salary for doctors compared to other countries. If you want to earn more, you need to look for jobs in Moscow or Saint Petersburg. Another option is to pursue a career in dentistry, which offers higher earning potential.

The university is simple and basic.
Tips: There are no cultural shifts to speak of, as everything is the same for Indian students. There are no scholarships available now, but that may change in the future. The university is medium-sized, and according to the budget, it's not very good but medium. Students may find it quite boring in the early days.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): If we wanted to stay in Russia after graduation, we would have to take an exam in Russian. Like in India, it is difficult to pass the exam because of the Russian language. So if you want to stay in Russia, you need to focus on your studies.
Dislikes (Student Life): It is difficult to adjust to a new university. Also, students may find it difficult to acquire practical knowledge due to a lack of bodies for review. Students should study on their own.

Good public transportation facilities.
Tips: The public transport system is very good and convenient here. You can also take cab, it is not very expensive. There is a cultural shift as the language used here is very different but you will adapt to it or get used to it.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): It is a very safe country with nice career opportunities. People who can survive in extreme weather conditions can surely try to settle permanently. Salary is also good here. You can earn very well. It is a nice country with nice culture without any racial discrimination.
Dislikes (Indian Food): This place has a good cafe and restaurants. You can also cook for yourself. Everything is available here. Only problem is they do not season food good enough here, but it is manageable. Also has very good coffee places. There are some indian restaurants too.

The university has a friendly and science-oriented focus.
Tips: I've had no trouble adjusting culturally since my university has a friendly and science-oriented focus. The only real culture shock I got here is the weather as it can get cold in Russia. I do have to dress warm and wear full-size jackets when I go outside, but that's nothing a warm winter coat can't handle. Transportation around here is very easy thanks to all the options for getting around, including taxis, buses, and trolleys. In winter I tend to opt for taxis over public transport because of the cold, but public transport is acceptable for 30 minutes of travel without any issues. We must learn the Russian language, which is a challenge, and the pay is low compared to other countries. Even with the opportunity to settle permanently, this is not a good career choice for me. Aside from that, I've been very happy with my university. As a bonus, I'm thankful that I didn't avoid any scholarships. I'm satisfied with my university and my course.

There are lots of ups and downs throughout our college life.
Tips: Everyone is very welcoming and we don’t feel discriminated against. But some of the staff have some serious issues that need to be addressed. One of the things I really appreciate about the Northern State Medical University is that they offer lots of opportunities for us to do part-time work while we’re studying, both on and off campus. They do this because they want to help us develop our skills in the medical field. They have partnerships with a local hospital so there are positions open for us to work there. Overall, I am fully satisfied with Northern State Medical University and Russia.
Dislikes (Value for money): The tuition fees feel like they're justified by the quality of the teaching, but it can feel a little expensive at times. There's some modern infrastructure missing, like updated technology.

Northern state medical university situated in European North of Russia
Tips: Students should know that they are going to be living in a European culture and should brace themselves for the weather. It's probably not going to be the same as in your home country. In our department, all faculty members teach in English and complete the syllabus according to schedule and practice. Weekly tests, which are analyzed to provide feedback, are also scheduled. We have experienced faculty from India, Pakistan, and Russia, and we can ask our questions or express doubts on the Moodle platform. Student life is good because the university does a lot for us. We have well-maintained hostels, and clean rooms for two to three people, and our university holds many events including Indian festivals, faculty day, and gatherings of the International Friendships Club, the scientific society, and the language club. I'm totally satisfied with my decision to attend this university.

The university is average and does not provide much opportunities.
Tips: If you have the talent and the drive to succeed, then you should come to this university. But if you are only coming for the degree, then don't come here, because there are many chances of getting expelled. You can enjoy yourself a lot here. You will have time to study, travel, and experience another country. The faculty is quite helpful so you can reach out to them if you face any difficulties. The food that we get here is not good and does not appeal to our Indian taste buds. So, bring your own masalas, ghee, etc. as they are not easily available and expensive to buy.

Great for study as well as for sports.
Tips: Before joining, students should not be stressed too much because it's an easygoing process. You can easily match the study pattern and lifestyle of this place. In the beginning, there will be a few problems, but with the advice of seniors, you can easily overcome them. I am satisfied with my university.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): If you learn Russian, you will have many opportunities to settle in this country. The people are very cooperative, especially if you speak Russian. If I had the opportunity, I would definitely settle here. There are already some seniors here who have settled here.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): We have some Indian teachers here who are very good and helpful. The teaching pattern is similar to that in India, and the teachers are from many different countries and all speak very good English.

College campus and infrastructure is really good.
Tips: The teachers are thorough in the English language and their teaching is good and understandable. However, there are very few practical classes in the hospital. The faculty members are very educated, knowledgeable, friendly, polite and experienced, and they are very helpful and understanding. We have a Moodle system that makes our studies easier.
Likes (Safety): Classes are mostly in the morning, and lectures are in the evening. Starting in the fourth year, each subject is taught in a two-week cycle, which makes it easy to follow the course material. The workload is light, which makes it easy for students to succeed.
