Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering - Batch of 2018
Offered by Loyola University Maryland
4.8
A balanced blend of academics, cultures, and opportunities.
Tips: The transition to Loyola University Maryland was smooth, but I did experience a slight cultural shift coming from a smaller city. The campus is diverse, and interacting with people from different backgrounds helped me grow socially and broaden my perspective. Also, I took advantage of a merit-based scholarship offered by the college. The application process involved submitting academic documents and a brief interview. The award covered a small portion of my tuition fee, which was a great financial relief. Overall, I'm quite satisfied. The course structure is comprehensive, the faculty is helpful, and the campus offers a lot of resources.
Likes (Value for money): The tuition fee is quite reasonable considering the quality of education, infrastructure, and exposure provided by the college. It's well-justified, and the college offers well-structured courses and access to good facilities, such as libraries and labs. It also offers opportunities for extracurricular development. Compared to many other institutions, the cost is affordable while still maintaining a high standard of education. This makes it a great investment for students.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The faculty members are knowledgeable on their subjects, but there is room for improvement in how they engage students. Most faculty members are approachable and willing to help when you reach out to them. However, they are not always proactive in checking in with students. The teaching faculty is not particularly diverse in terms of nationality, and most of the professors are from India.
