MBBS - Batch of 2026
3.9
Tambov State University has very limited internship opportunities.
Tips: Before joining this college, students should know the Russian method of education, culture, and rules of the Russian Federation. They should also know the university's requirements, such as attending classes regularly, renewing their visas, and migrating on time. Students should also be aware of the dress code that must be followed when entering the campus. Finally, students should have basic knowledge of the Russian language.
Likes (Public transportation): The fares are fixed within the city limits, and a government website provides real-time tracking of bus locations and arrival times, which is especially helpful during the winter season. The payment system is secure, and the overall quality of the transportation system is good.
Dislikes (Indian Food): For international students, it can be difficult to adapt to the food culture because only Russian food is available. However, there are kitchens in the hostel where you can cook your own food. Also, there are new varieties of Russian food that are delicious, so you might want to try them.

Tambov State University is an average university. The course needs some changes.
Tips: The language barrier makes it difficult to understand some subjects and the coursework is rigorous. If you fail an exam, you only have three attempts, and each attempt costs 21,000 rubles. If you fail an oral exam, you'll need to pay 21,000 rubles. If you study hard, you can pass the oral exams. If you fail all three attempts, you'll be expelled from the university. However, if you're fluent in Russian, you'll have great opportunities here. You'll have a good chance of getting a good salary and making contacts with Russians. The starting salary is good, but to get more you'll need to do postgraduate work here. Be prepared to take oral exams, as there are no written exams. You'll also need to learn Russian and cook your own meals. There are many events for Indians, such as Diwali, which is well celebrated here. I feel that practical knowledge is much more important than written exams, but this university doesn't provide much practical experience. You'll need to learn on your own, and some of the teachers only speak Russian, which makes it difficult to understand the subject matter.
Likes (Public transportation): We have continuous bus and cab service all over, from morning till night, and even after that. The bus fee is 27, but we can travel to every place with that. In some cars, we get cashback, and in some places, we can get free bus passes to travel for cycling or classes.
Dislikes (Internships): The school offers a limited number of internships, and most of them are available only to students who are fluent in Russian. Also, the internships tend to be more theoretical than practical, which makes it difficult for students who are not fluent in Russian to get the most out of them. However, if you are fluent in Russian, you should be able to manage these internships.

Tambov State University is well regarded for its medical courses and has a good reputation.
Tips: Before joining this college, students should know that determination and consistency in attending classes are key to success. It is also important to have a basic understanding of the Russian language and be willing to learn and improve it with the help of the Russian teachers at the university. Students should also be aware of the weather, food, Russian culture, and the rules and regulations of the university. Finally, students should learn to be independent. I felt safe on campus and while travelling by bus or train. There were police on every street, security at the university, and 24-hour security at the hostel. The people were friendly and treated me like a friend.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I don't prefer permanent immigration because I don't speak the language well and I find the climate here to be very different from my home country. Also, the food and groceries are not the same as in India, and I have a hard time finding the things that I need.

Tambov State University is highly affordable and provides many facilities to students.
Tips: Before joining, students should contact a senior student and ask them any questions they may have. It is better to bring some extra clothes and other items. Students should prepare for exams, as they are mostly oral. Students should also go to the hospital to practice. Learning Russian will take you to the next level. Tambov State University has affordable tuition, free accommodation, a mess hall for food, and an Indian restaurant with a wide variety of dishes. The campus is beautiful, and the facilities are modern. The university offers a wide range of courses and majors, and the faculty is very knowledgeable and helpful. There are a lot of part-time jobs available. I got my first job as a courier and bought a cycle, skate, scooter, and moped. Later, I bought a car that I could use for work. I bought everything I owned with the money I earned from my part-time jobs. Overall, I am highly satisfied with the course, university and the country.

The university has best faculty and safe environment.
Tips: Students applying to a Russian university should apply directly to the university rather than going through a consultancy agency. The curriculum is different from that in India, so students should be prepared to adjust to the different teaching methods. However, the university offers a good quality education and is highly regarded among Russian universities.
Likes (Part time work): There are a lot of opportunities for students to work part-time while they are studying at this university. The university and government help international students get the necessary documentation to work part-time, and the average salary is 40,000 rubles per month. Burger King, McDonald's, and KFC franchises offer reasonable salaries for part-time work.

Tambov State University provides a welcoming environment for foreign students.
Tips: Tambov State Medical University is a reputable institution for medical education in Russia. The university has a beautiful campus, modern facilities, and qualified faculty. It provides a good quality of education, making it a sought-after choice for international students seeking an MBBS degree, particularly from India. However, some potential drawbacks include the language barrier due to primarily Russian instruction and a relatively lower ranking compared to top Russian medical universities. TSU is a highly regarded university in Russia, and it offers top-class educational facilities for medical students. It has well-equipped laboratories and clinical settings, and student life is friendly and peaceful. TSU offers many opportunities for students to work part-time and retake exams, and it has strict security and extra precautions for the safety of girls. It has a good quality education, a friendly relationship with India, and a welcoming campus for Indian students.

Tambov State University is the medical hub of colleges and offers a wide variety of programs.
Tips: I did not experience any culture shock because the culture here is very similar to ours. The faculty are very friendly and approachable, and they always respond to students' questions. They also use a variety of teaching methods and equipment to help students learn. I did not receive any scholarship as I was not eligible for one. The course is advanced and the university is very welcoming. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I do not plan to live permanently or migrate to Tambov, because I cannot leave my family. However, I do think Tambov is a very nice city, and I would suggest people immigrate here as there are plenty of opportunities to explore.

Tambov State University - A perfect choice for MBBS abroad.
Tips: Tambov State University has a modern campus with advanced facilities, including sports complexes, museums, and hostels. Students can enjoy a comfortable and engaging campus life. Students generally appreciate the university's modern infrastructure, well-equipped laboratories, and experienced faculty. The university offers a diverse range of extracurricular activities, cultural events, and sports facilities. Tambov, Russia, is generally considered a safe city for international students. Some factors that contribute to its safety are a low crime rate, a secure university campus, a supportive local community, language support, and cultural adaptation programs. However, as with any foreign travel, international students should take some basic safety precautions.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part-time work is very rare in Tambov, and even if you find it, you'll need to speak the local language very well. Some possible part-time job options include tutoring or teaching English, working in retail or hospitality, freelance writing or designing, pet-sitting or dog-walking, and part-time jobs on university campuses for students. If you're interested in exploring part-time work in Tambov, I recommend searching local job listings or consulting with a career counsellor.

Tips: The study pattern was different from India, but it was good. There was also a cultural difference, but it was not difficult to adjust. I did not receive a scholarship because there are no scholarships at my university. I chose the university after talking to various consultants. The university is good, but the only problem is that they use translators in the main subjects and do not have English-speaking teachers. Overall, I had a good experience at Tambov State University.

The university is welcoming and the staff are very cooperative.
Tips: Before joining Tambov State University, students should know about the admission requirements, programs and courses, cost of living and tuition fees, and accommodation and facilities. Students should carefully consider these factors and make an informed decision about their education. Students should learn the Russian language. If you like Indian food, you should learn how to cook it. You should also have a GPay account because Swift transfers are banned in Russia due to the war. GPay is the only way to send money to your parents.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): It isn't easy to integrate into Russian society. Also, the political situation is very unstable, and the economy is uncertain. The legal system is very complex, and obtaining permanent residency cannot be easy. If you can speak and write Russian, you can settle permanently in Russia. However, even at the airport, they don't speak Russian. When I first arrived at the airport, I asked a worker to guide me to the exit, and they immediately put a Google translator in front of me.

Tambov State University has warm and friendly faculty with an optimistic learning environment.
Tips: Before going to college or university, be aware of everything. The university is very good to study at and has a good reputation for academics. However, you should know whether they are teaching you in English or Russian. You should cross-check all information about the university and its campus. The college provides us with the best quality in terms of professors and other resources. The professors are great and experienced, and they make the subjects easy to understand. The conceptual reading and other resources are good, and you can't miss the study of what the professors teach here. The college premises are great, and the people who work and study here are very helpful and cheerful. The clubs are great, and they provide a lot of opportunities to socialize and make friends. Tips: The Russian language is a must. You also need to be friendly to the staff to get the most out of your studies. Learning some Russian is essential for getting around and interacting with the locals. Be sure to take it easy on the locals. The quality of the faculty at this university is very good, and their teaching is in Russian. However, there is a translator in every class, even in online classes. In addition, there are many opportunities to retake exams that you fail. There are no Indian restaurants or grocery stores near Tambov. Good option for MBBS abroad.
Tips: Smolensk State Medical University is a pretty serious college to study, so I had to get serious and put in some serious study time. If you're thinking about applying here, do not slack off, or you might not graduate. The teachers are okay, but you have to be prepared to put in time and do your own research. Self-study is a must to have a clear understanding of the concepts. Besides, it is very cold in winter. The classes start at 8 a.m. and we can easily use the public transportation. It is very convenient, affordable and accessible. People are very friendly as well and will help you in case you need any help. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the country and the university.

Smolensk State Medical University has very limited internship opportunities.
Tips: Firstly, check how the university was, how the campus or campus area was, whether it was habitable or not, and also look at the university's results. There's no part-time work available to students because the university wants us to focus on our studies. The university says that we don't need part-time work, as there are lots of parts to our study plans. A lot of the students disagree with this policy, but it does help us to concentrate on school. Public transportation here is good with routes to every stop and so many buses. There are also private buses that work like public transport. I like it because travel times are reasonable, and the bus stops are all near my apartment. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the country and the college.

Hustle of college life for becoming the best doctor.
Tips: Life won't be as easy as you expect, so be mentally prepared. It's going to be like a proper Indian hostel, with all the usual politics. Cooking is your responsibility, so don't come unprepared. You came here to study, so keep that at the top of your priorities. Student life is a little difficult but it’s good at the same time as we get to learn a lot of new things, which helps the students grow better in the future. Like anywhere else, here there are college politics and hostel politics. But we will make the best memories here, so enjoy and participate in all activities, as after these five years there is no fun. Since there aren’t many options for Indians in this city, it can be tough to find items like Indian food and other basics. It’s also difficult to adjust to your new environment at first, but it gets easier once you get your bearings.

Great university with strong academics and tests fortnightly.
Tips: Before joining this college, you should be aware that you'll be living on your own in an unfamiliar city. You should also know that you may not get your scholarship money right away, so don’t panic. You'll be part of a culture change, though, so you'll have to learn how to celebrate Indian holidays. Student life is good here. Many events happen on the Indian Culture Committee, and everyone who’s interested participates. The campus also hosts a lot of quiz programmes and debate competitions, which are great for students looking to expand their vocabularies. Overall, this is a really nice school that takes your studies seriously.
Dislikes (Value for money): The teachers here are very strict, but it's because they really want us to be good doctors. The testing system is very nice because the teachers give us a moral exam. This helps the teachers weed out students who didn't study but still might manage to pass the written exam.

Tips: We live far from our home, so we have to be independent. But being here, we also get closer to Indian culture, since it's all around us. We get scholarships here, too, if we get the highest scores in our exams. The college itself isn't hard to get into, but safety here is good. Smolensk State Medical University provides scholarship based on scores.
Tips: I recommend learning cooking before you come to college. No smoking or alcohol is allowed on campus, so be prepared to give that up. I've found that the students tend to grow in a positive way in this environment. We also do have scholarships. For one, there's a scholarship for 6500 dollars that’s divided among the top students at the college. We have classes from morning until evening. As a result, we're unable to work. I am primarily here to study. My parents pay for my education. I’m satisfied with this college.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation system is very good and is made up of buses, trams, and “marshutkas” which are mini-buses. The frequency of service for all these modes is quite good, so there is never any long wait. On top of this, they're quite punctual. The charges are also very low and overall, the quality of the service they provide is very good.

Tips: There is a good environment here. I’ve never heard of any junior students complaining about ragging from a senior. Seniors are very comforting and help a lot during the course. You’ll find that some teachers are strict, while others are very friendly, but either way, the education experience here is very good. You should also know there is an initial scholarship that is taken away if you fail an exam on the first try. The hostel has a strict schedule, but there are strict rules about safety and security. The city people are very friendly and helpful. I don't feel insecure in the city's public transportation, or in public places. All the essential stores and shops are very close to the university and hostels, making life easier. Part-time work is not allowed on a student visa, so working part-time is not permitted. Therefore, we don't have opportunities available for a part-time job. There are too many difficult subjects that can't be handled together with study. Smolesnk State Medical University does not allow us to work part-time.
Tips: One of the most challenging things about attending Smolensk State Medical University is the transition. There is a lot to get used to after coming here from so far away. We have to adjust a lot of things as we leave our comfort zones. In particular, we must adjust to a new food culture, a new family experience, and a new living environment. However, we have scholarships available here at the university for those who work hard enough to get top marks. The university provides one full year’s tuition for the top student and half that for the second-place student. The faculty at my university is really good. There are many good faculty for foreign students. The faculty can speak English very well, and it's helpful to understand them and their teaching style. Dislikes (Part time work): There are lots of part-time jobs available. But the University doesn't allow us to work because we're on student visas. Unconventional medical university.
Tips: My experience at this university has been a mixed bag. While I'm satisfied with the academic aspects of my program, I've been disappointed with the living conditions and food options. The food in the hostel cafeteria is terrible, and the accommodations are not up to par. On the other hand, the university apartments are modern, well-maintained, and provide a comfortable living space. I'm excited about the prospect of becoming a doctor and making a positive impact on people's lives. While I'm satisfied with my decision to study here, I do sometimes wonder if I could have chosen a different country, such as Georgia, which is also known for its medical programs.
Likes (Safety): Safety and security are paramount concerns for students, particularly women when choosing a university. I am pleased to report that my university takes the safety and well-being of its students very seriously. The hostel rules are strict, ensuring a secure and comfortable living environment for all residents. From my personal experience, I can confidently say that the university is a safe haven for women. I have not faced any difficulties or concerns regarding my safety since joining the university. The university's emphasis on security was a key factor in my decision to enroll here. The university's commitment to safety is evident in its robust security measures, which include 24/7 surveillance, secure entry and exit points, and a dedicated security team. These measures provide students with a sense of security and peace of mind, allowing them to focus on their academic pursuits without worrying about their safety.
Dislikes (Part time work): The availability of part-time jobs is a crucial aspect for students to consider when pursuing higher education. Unfortunately, on-campus part-time jobs are scarce, leaving students with no option but to explore off-campus opportunities. Off-campus part-time jobs can be found in various industries, such as retail, hospitality, food service, and more. However, these opportunities often require students to commute, which can be time-consuming and exhausting. To manage both part-time work and academics, multitasking is essential. Students must be able to prioritize their tasks, manage their time effectively, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. This can be challenging, but it is crucial for academic success and personal well-being. In terms of compensation, the average weekly payout for part-time work is approximately 3,000 rubles, with a maximum of around 3,500 rubles. While this may not be a substantial amount, it can help students cover some of their living expenses and gain valuable work experience.

You do get a yearly scholarship here if you score full marks in each subject. I'm satisfied with my choice, in fact, happy to choose this country over others.
Likes (Safety): I feel safe and secure at Smolensk State Medical University. The city is peaceful, and the university and hostel rules that every student must follow contribute to the safety of the campus. Security is a major consideration when choosing a place to study, and Smolensk is a great choice.
Dislikes (Part time work): Students are not allowed to work part-time while studying at Smolensk State Medical University. The university believes that MBBS is a difficult course and does not have any workload. However, if the university had permitted part-time work, everyone would have chosen to do so.

It is an amazing place where we will grow professionally.
Tips: The college is amazing with very good faculty for every subject. The faculty members are well-trained in their respective fields and are more than equipped with knowledge for teaching us. I would suggest students not to have too many expectations, but it will be a good experience working with them.
Likes (Public transportation): The public transportation is well-connected and affordable. Trams, trolleybuses, and marshrutkas provide service, and the routes are well-connected and on time. The system is also easy to track on maps. The people in the city are friendly and will help you find your way if you need to go somewhere. There are also resting stations available.
Dislikes (Indian Food): We used to cook for ourselves because it was more affordable and cheaper than eating out. There were some Indian restaurants, but they were not good enough to eat at every day. The groceries are available at affordable prices, and in the hostels, cooking gas is free and shared by everyone. So we could easily make our own food.
