State-of-the-Art Facilities and Hands-On Experience
Tips: Moving out to Germany means getting hit with a massive culture shock right out of the gate, especially when you're trying to navigate the language barrier, the completely different food and how locals interact. But honestly, once you're inside the TU Chemnitz campus, it gets way easier because there’s a huge, incredibly active community of Indian students who genuinely look out for the newbies and help you settle in. There’s always stuff happening with different student clubs and cultural fests where you can volunteer, get involved, and meet people from all over the place. On the money side, if you knuckle down and keep your grades sharp—we’re talking landing a solid 1.3 to 1.6 in the German system—you can actually grab some decent scholarships. The university itself hands out funding that’s worth around 600 euros a month for a full year, plus you can always look into extra grants through DAAD to help cover your living costs.
Likes (Internships): The master's program is designed in a way with a mandatory internship. So it's very easy to apply for an internship all around Germany without any hurdles. Also, your German-speaking skills and previous work experience play a major role, along with your network. Also, you will be well paid during the internship and end up securing a full-time job in the same company where you do the internship and thesis.
Dislikes (Part time work): Chemnitz is a small town in the state of Saxony, and part-time job opportunities are very limited on campus. You can find off-campus jobs quite easily in Dresden and Leipzig, but you have to travel at least 1 hour. If you can speak German up to the B1 level, you can easily find part-time jobs in Chemnitz with good pay.

Excellent university to study
Tips: If you're looking into joining Chemnitz University of Technology, there are a couple of major things you should keep on your radar. First, when it comes to funding, you can absolutely land a scholarship here—I actually managed to secure one after my first semester. You don't need to stress about hunting it down blindly either; the university will directly shoot you an email with instructions on how to apply. It works out to about 300 euros, which gives you a really nice, much-needed financial cushion for daily student life. As for the academics, the course structure here is solid. One of the best parts about studying at TU Chemnitz is that they bake a mandatory internship right into the curriculum. Because you're required to get that real-world experience, it creates a super smooth domino effect: you can easily turn your internship project into your Master's thesis topic, which very often rolls right into a full-time job offer after graduation. It completely takes the guesswork out of building a career path in Germany.

Chemnitz has good environment to live, you have to make the best of it.
Tips: You may experience a cultural shift in the form of language and festivities. The transition will not be too difficult. In terms of food, there are options to get Indian groceries in Chemnitz. I did get a scholarship for a year called Deutschlandstipendium. The monthly allowance was 300 euros. The course and University have a lot of resources and it totally depends on how you make the best use of it.

A Great Learning Experience in Germany
Tips: If you're planning on heading to TU Chemnitz, your absolute number one priority should be picking up at least some basic German before you arrive. While you can get through your actual classes just fine using English, the reality check hits when you start looking for internships or full-time jobs after graduation—that's when German becomes a massive deal. Personally, my transition moving over to Germany went really smoothly. While I was studying, I actually managed to land the DAAD STIBET I scholarship, which was a huge help. You should definitely make it a habit to constantly check the student portal for funding options, especially things like the Deutschlandstepindeium and the Georgius Agricola scholarship. At the end of the day, I’ve been really happy with the university and my specific course. Germany has turned out to be an amazing spot, not just for the high-quality research and education, but also just for growing as a person.

Technical University of Chemnitz has a very good reputation in Germany.
Tips: The Technical University of Chemnitz is basically a good university. If, we are discussing the Advanced Manufacturing course, then it's too versatile, which is a diverse case of its specialisation courses. These modules help you to understand and work on your area of interest.
Likes (Value for money): From a living standard and financial perspective, Chemnitz is an excellent place to live, especially for students. As the third largest city in the state of Saxony, it is well developed, while still maintaining a lower cost of living than bigger cities.

Overall, it's a good experience.
Tips: Make sure you can handle the job pressure with your study and also have to learn German language it's very important. Job is easy to find if you know German language. Make sure you have enough language skills and try to get in contact with professors.
Likes (Value for money): Hardly, I am spending 500 euro per month in Chemnitz, Germany all things included as compared to other cities. It's the cheapest and best city for students. The traveling is free and some great cities like Dresden, liepzig are near to Chemnitz and it's easy to find job there.
Dislikes (Indian Food): For vegetarians, there are very limited options for food. All things like pizza have two or three options for vegetarians. McDonald's only serves non veg burger, etc. For spices also it is very expensive and everytime you have to search for Indian stores to buy some things which are usually expensive.

Accept, Adapt, and Explore - supportive faculty, friendly classmates, safe environment for growth.
Tips: Tough to adjust as the shift is massive, but that's what you chose. Be ready to adapt, accept the change, and work hard. Not a scholarship student, so paid from home; try to get by with part-time jobs; lower expenses to a need-only basis. Know that there is a struggle where you prioritize your needs, but it will go based on the work you put in. Make good friends and stay productive. Good university, place, and country, but self-learning is important. Become self-sufficient anywhere.
Likes (Safety): Safe city, good community, public safety. While all will have their own experiences, I personally enjoyed my time there with good people, a friendly community, and mutual respect. Small town, so it's important to respect the community standards, know that you are choosing to go to their home, and they are accepting you. Provide that same respect back to them and grow together.
Dislikes (Internships): Landing an internship can be a real hustle since it mostly comes down to what employers want, your past experience, and your specific program. The openings are out there, but the competition is brutal and nothing is handed to you on a platter. While you can get some help through career services, job boards, resume reviews, and career fairs, you still have to be incredibly proactive and do most of the heavy lifting yourself. Finding the right role takes a ton of persistence, aggressive networking, and mass-applying to openings. It's also super important to stay on your professors' and counselors' radars.

A diverse campus with strong engineering and business teaching.
Tips: The most important thing is to look after the scholarships which can help you to have a great life ahead. Keep your eye on new scholarships. Keep in contact with students from the college. Cultural difference is not a problem. Indian community here is quite helpful. Good luck with sending your applications.
Likes (Part time work): The part-time work is an important thing and the off campus opportunities are flexible here. On-campus jobs are available for students having good grades. You can easily manage your studies along with the job. The average payout is quite good like in other states. You can expect 9-15$.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): It's a great hub for post-study employment opportunities. Many companies extend sponsorship for work visas, particularly in fields related to technology and engineering. The salary packages here are among the most competitive in the market. So, the array of post-study jobs makes the college a great destination for students from India.

Easy to adjust to in Canada.
Tips: I believe that Canada is the country one can except the least transition from when coming from India. Homely vibes aunties and uncle everywhere, meet and greet going on. Engineering courses are good but I guess now Germany and Dutch are the most sought-after destination for me. Canada is working pretty well, no complaint at all.
Likes (Safety): Constant guideline updation is something that the college does to make students aware of the environment. Do's and Don'ts should be read carefully students don't do this and then complain to the college about bicycle thefts and other problems. Security issues are rarely seen no breaches.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Co-op internship has not started yet so it can get me hired. College has helped me with getting IT but jobs I don't know about drives. I don't think that it happens in Canada. Campus drives and placements mostly happen in India. In Canada you should know how to apply what you have learned yourself.

Good university to be in.
Tips: Don't take up an on-campus accommodation trust me not worth it, live outside but nearby. There are no as such international scholarships but students who pass with over 75% overall grades are awarded with an entry level scholarship of 500$. Professors are all Ph.D. holders and have international publications. The area is beautiful with good scenery and it feels good to be under a cloud blue sky. Tuition fee is also not that much so it makes it a good university to study.
Likes (Internships): Co-op jobs are offered to most of the courses. Internship is based on selection so make sure to meet all the criteria. Comparing it with placements internship opportunities are good for my course also internships are provided. University website is constantly updated so keep a check!
Dislikes (Post study jobs): University doesn't provide much, you graduate then you are on your own. No campus placements as far as I have heard since I'm still studying but the university does help with part-time jobs so yes this is the thing. There should be something for placements as most of the students come to Canada to secure a job.
