Overwhelming but worthwhile.
Tips: Everything here moves at a fast pace, and the feeling of the East Coast is entirely different from the West Coast. It is a very popular city to pursue higher education, so you'll find students from all colleges. The cost of living is very high, and that is mainly because of the ren,t so keep that in mind.

The city is expensive but student-friendly.
Tips: You'll have a great time here, so don't be nervous. Make the most of your time here, attend classes to truly learn, and pursue any extracurricular activities that interest you. While Boston is an expensive city, it's also very student-friendly. People are friendly and they love to socialise a lot. Try to be friendly and connect with people. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.

Be fully prepared before joining, as professors expect you to be more independent.
Tips: I had a great time here, and that's largely because I was mentally prepared and came with a decent scholarship. Otherwise, expenses can really add up. The people here are individualistic, and professors expect you to be more independent, which was something I struggled with. I recommend being open to collaborations and projects, as they stand out more than your GPA.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration):

Great education and faculty.
Tips: I have seen changes in myself after moving here. The culture shock wasn't intense, but it was present, and it took me some time to get used to the abruptness and demeanour of the locals, as they can be a lot more straightforward than expected. Living here is expensive, so if you get an opportunity to work on campus, you should definitely take advantage of it.

There's a hackathon almost every other week to keep our skills sharp.
Tips: There are tons of events on campus, and there's a hackathon almost every other week to keep my skills sharp. It's easy to make connections with people from other majors because of these events, and it's a great way to make friends, too. Of course, not everything is perfect. One of the first things that really hit me was the weather and how cold it can get, so you'd better come prepared. Plus, the campus Wi-Fi is a bit unreliable, so make sure you're ahead of your work so you don't get caught when it inevitably goes out.

Great learning environment for students.
Tips: This university has really managed to teach me what is necessary to learn and has exceeded my expectations in various ways. The curriculum is pretty flexible, and so are the professors here. I also received a merit-based scholarship for 8,500 USD, which made things easier. My only annoyance is that the bus system becomes rather unreliable in the winter because of the snow.

UMass is a fun university
Tips: I think students should know how to communicate because it's the most important thing that I came across. I didn't know anything about scholarships but Shiksha helped me with that. On a scale 1 to 10, I'll rate 8 for the university, course and country I'll rate 6 because of their health care system.
Likes (Indian Food): There are several Indian restaurants in Boston. But I prefer cooking at home as it is healthy and pocket-friendly. There are lots of Indian grocery stores, where we mostly get all the Indian vegetables as most vegetarian students that I know have no issue finding the food/vegetarian food they like.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): Few of the professors are not from United States, therefore it becomes difficult to understand their accents. Otherwise, their experience in the particular field is what a student gets the most help from. We have post discussion every week, an assignment exam every 2 weeks, then weekly presentations and group presentations. And a mid term and final exam.

MS Business Analytics - Batch of 2024

It is just fine, not worth the amount of money I am paying. But just okay.
Tips: I have had a massive change in my personality. There is not a big cultural shift as all the masters' students are Indians, so you feel at home and don’t rely on getting international exposure a lot until you meet different people. I got a total of 4k off my tuition in terms of scholarship. Overall, the college and course is just fine.
Likes (Internships): Internships are not a lot, you can always make connections and talk to career services. You can also talk to alumni or your professors.
There is, but there is a lot of fight seeing how bad the market is right now and how competitive the market is. All you can do is keep applying.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I usually go with what is the cheapest. Usually Uber eats have a lot deals on a daily basis where you can get buy1 get 1 and I am a non vegetarian so I have a lot of options for myself. For vegetarians, you might have options, but it would be less.
Usually cooking by myself, but sometimes you can cheat

College is friendly but check the coursework and faculty.
Tips: Students should check the coursework and faculty. Email them and find out their interest. Most of the college websites are not updated so after coming here I got to know there is no huge faculty and courses for Masters in Data Science at Mass Dartmouth. On-campus is safe but you won't get on-campus jobs because of overcrowding. The acceptance rate is increasing so suggest choosing another college.

There are so many crime cases with this university
Tips: Students coming here should know about the college background which is not that great. The faculty and the courses which they provide. Most of the courses which they display on the website are not provided here. There are no scholarships provided. I will not recommend to join this university as it is not worth the money. Campus placements are not good.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation you can take from the university stop that is a good option. Even a student id works for local transportation so no need to pay any amount. Since there is a selection going on here so local transportation is free here. Every one-hour bus will be there.
Dislikes (Value for money): Faculty is not that good. Most of the courses which they have displayed on the website are not provided here. This is a public university which should be less in amount but it is similar to a private college where tuition fees is too high and not worth the money.

You will have to adjust to survive.
Tips: College is located in a remote area, so be prepared to spend a lot of time in transportation, and consider buying a car if you want to save time. Also, even if you can cook, you will need to travel 40 miles if you want to get good Indian supplies, normal groceries from Walmart are cheap if you buy great value products.
Dislikes (Indian Food): I love to cook myself but I can only get basic grocery supplies from nearby Walmart, that too have to spend 2 hours to get them. If you want to cook or have real Indian food and snacks, travel to the Patel Brother store, which is 40 miles from college. Which can be estimated to 2 hrs travel on public transport, one way.

It's a good university with a lot of opportunities.
Tips: It's better to revise the basics before the classes commence, in case you are joining the university for Master's.
The weather conditions of the localities should be kept in mind.
Since Dartmouth is a village, the availability of buses should also be known.

Tips: This is research oriented university and anyone who is willing to do the research can join this university. Professor are talented and are always eager to help the students on their doubts and clarifications. Also, a lot of on campus jobs are available.
