M.Eng. in Technical Management - Batch of 2027
4.0
Small town college in extreme north west of Germany, having people from around the world.
Tips: Well most important thing soon after you reach is to get an Anmeldung and block account activation. These can be done in a week. If planning for any bank account, you need to apply as early as possible because the waiting period can be about 2-3 weeks. There are a lot of Indias and people of different nationalities living together here. Many from African and Middle Eastern countries. Well, the course actually is a self paced program, so there is a lot of self study one can expect. The faculty do have a lot of work experience in their fields and they can help students get tie-ups for their thesis also.
Likes (Public transportation): The transportation is just so convenient and has a good network. The frequency of buses and trains is very good. Having a semester ticket doesn't cost one anything for travel. The city has a good city bus network. But to move out of it, there are trains and buses suggested to keep an ID alongside while travelling longer distances.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are a few Arabic and Asian restaurants, but due to the small size of the town, not many options available. Although there are well-known chains such as McD and Domino's. There's an Asian market, but with very limited indian options. But the nearest city to find an Indian restaurant will be Bremen.

A good place to find oneself; Personally and professionally
Tips: Since the course is in English, you should expect a lot of international students; But most of the students at the university will be Indians. The transition depends on individuals, but one should be comfortable spending time by themselves; Germany could be lonely for a lot of people. I am satisfied with my course, but I could have reached out to various professors and been part of different clubs and research projects.
Likes (Value for money): The semester feels good, and dormitory rent is low. You could save a lot of money and concentrate on the course. You could also apply for scholarships through various platforms, but it's competitive. Your profile should stand out to receive funding. But the experience is worth the money you spend.
Dislikes (Public transportation): Public transportation is available, but not around the clock. If you reach the city late at night, you probably need to hire a taxi or bicycle to reach the university. There are no trams, just buses and trains. It's well connected with the capital of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Ru00fcgen Islands. Deutschlandticket covers the cost of Regional transportation (63u20ac / Month).

Master of Engineering in Simulation and System Design - Batch of 2026

4.1
The beautiful campus by the sea with modern facilities.
Tips: Hochschule Stralsund is a beautiful and practise oriented campus. The course offers strong hands on training in Simulation. Scholarships like DAAD or Deutschland stipendium are possible if you plan and apply early. The professors are very talented with strong exposure to the technical industry. I had a peaceful time with my education and shaped myself good here.
Likes (Safety): The campus is very secured and well monitored 24/7. We have a security service monitoring and surveilling the campus the entire day. The police station and fire department are also nearby to the campus. Only permitted vehicles can enter the campus, and it is very secure.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): It's a very small town with less industrial options. Proximity to bigger cities is a little hard. But speaking about Germany in general, it is a land of opportunities. Start your course here, shape yourself and try applying for jobs and internships in other bigger cities. This can help you gain an edge

At Hochschule stralsund things are calm and quite.
Tips: I would say students should be prepared to be alone and enjoy their own company as Stralsund city is very quiet and not very open. People are very reserved. There are only two international courses available and mostly all the students studying in these courses are Indian. So try to connect with them.
Likes (Safety): All the people in the city are very good and sorted. I never felt any insecurity or suspicious behaviour in public places. Police vans are often available around the city to ensure safety but to be honest, I never saw them catching anyone doing anything wrong.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): All the courses are very basic. There is nothing much to learn. Mostly all the faculty teaches pre-defined syllabi with very minimum updation of it. Most of the faculty has problems speaking English language as they are native German speakers.

Its well located, well defined and structred coures,
Tips: I adjusted gradually by meeting new people and learning local customs. The biggest cultural shift was the emphasis on punctuality, independence, and direct communication. I am satisfied with my course, university, and the country. The education is practical; the learning environment is supportive.
Likes (Safety): Stralsund is overall safe. Lovely people & a cool City I lost my wallet twice in the city with money, a bank card, and my student ID inside. I got it back both times. I personally feel really safe in Stralsund. It depends on city and university.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): In Germany, getting a job depends on your skills and knowledge. Companies generally do not visit colleges for campus placements. Hahaha, job roles depend on your studies and experience; they will offer anything from cleaning the office to leading the company and getting a salary as per roles.
