MS in Marketing/MBA - Batch of 2027
3.8
Come with a certain level of preparedness.
Tips: What you should know is that the campus is very inclusive, engaging and there are resources for almost all your needs. Professors are attentive and approachable which was reassuring and classes are conducted in an interactive format. Lots of career fairs and networking sessions happen here. There is a safe and secure feeling here as students are quite united and there is efficient campus security. Any concerns are addressed and taken seriously and patrols take place too especially after dark. I've not had any major experiences here.

Good experience and exposure.
Tips: Education here is practical and theoretical. Assignments are formulated in a way that allows you to explore your creativity and niche but be careful in avoiding plagiarism and other academic misdemeanours here. The culture shift was more apparent in the first two weeks or so after which things became more natural. The city has a lot to offer so I spend my weekends exploring and meeting people with similar interests.

MS in Chemical Engineering - Batch of 2027

Exploring my potential.
Tips: Coming to this university has helped me come out of my shell and participation and engagement are highly encouraged. There aren't any real restrictions both within and outside of classrooms so try to explore as much as you can in the time you have here. Some of the seminars ive attended have been truly eye opening and I would suggest people to take all advantage of being here.

MS in Systems Engineering - Batch of 2026

Things here work a certain way.
Tips: I found people here helpful and accepting and things in the university and the city are mostly student centric. Didn't get any scholarships but some of my peers have based on their eligibility criteria. Relatively grading can take some time to truly get the hang of but the teaching is supportive and I have been met with understanding and patience. Pretty satisfied.

Master of Science in Data Science - Batch of 2026
3.9
Been learning a lot here.
Tips: I chose to come and pursue my education here as the programme seemed promising and I have been very passionate about working in data Science. The alumni network has been more helpful than I anticipated. The professors are well known in their respective fields. The campus is kind of far but the community is fun.
Dislikes (Part time work): Part time work barely exists here for those from abroad. There are some available on campus which get filled fast so it makes things nearly impossible. You will have to look for research work or lab work that pays if you're looking for a side hustle as solely relying on campus part time jobs can be very tricky.

Master of Arts in Program Design & Evaluation - Batch of 2026
3.8
Unpredictable scenarios, but good.
Tips: My transition here has been smooth and positive. I had given myself enough time to settle in and get used to a routine and the international student community was helpful as well. There are social mixers to break the ice and get to know people. The campus is also pretty safe mainly during the day. Sponsorship is barely available at this point so things have become stressful hence its more advisable to come after thorough planning.

Master of Science in Finance - Batch of 2027
3.6
Truly enriching and valuable experience.
Tips: A lot of my time here is spent socialising and exploring new things to do on campus whenever I get time aside from classwork. There are plenty of clubs based on whatever niche interest you might have and students are encouraged to explore and make independent decisions. Faculty has been kind when needed and other than course registration, everything has been pretty smooth. There are things pretty unpredictable here right now so come prepared.

Master of Science in Management Information Systems - Batch of 2024
3.7
Great connectivity and helpful faculty.
Tips: The university, while being top ranked isn't exactly well known and has its cons. The area of the university isn't that well suited compared to a city based university. The vibe is great but the weather isn't. There are no scholarships for MS in MIS. Overall, a good university.
Likes (Public transportation): There are buses to and from the campus all the time and also plenty of University transportation available at ease. There are Uber and Lyft application rides available at all times. Some of the colleges are off the main campus and yet there is good connectivity.
Dislikes (Student Life): It is a college town, which usually just includes the areas around the University. Not much to do except be involved in the university itself so the student life is mainly among your batchmates and events in the university. I spent most of my time with Indian students and in the Indian community.

BS in Statistics & Data Science - Batch of 2025

It is a new environment, be more participative and open to new things.
Tips: Before joining the UofA, I would recommend students to understand basic things about university like programs offered, campus culture, location, rankings etc. The university does offer scholarship based on our academic scores in high school; I did receive a scholarship. It's definitely a different experience since it is a new environment in which we are learning, but it has been great so far. I did experience some cultural differences initially, but now I have settled up well. It does take some time but always be more participative and open to new things.
Likes (Indian Food): There are enough Indian restaurants around campus and in Tucson. I know two restaurants, one of them is on campus and the other is very close to the campus. The prices are quite decent, ranging from 4$-20$ approximately. There are also other cuisines available like Vietnamese cuisine, Italian cuisine etc. I personally prefer cooking myself because being an international student, cooking saves a lot of money which could be used to pay the rent or tuition fee. I make meal plans or store food to save time during the workdays.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Sponsorship is a requirement for full-time jobs but not for internships. I think due to the ongoing recession and layoff period for this year, the post study jobs opportunities are very limited and has been difficult to find, especially for international students. Many companies are not offering sponsorship, but it is expected to ease up soon depending on the job market situation. However, the university offers certain research positions too which could be considered as an alternative option.

Temple is a research-based R1 university.
Tips: You must know about the culture and Temple Pride Month. There are lots of things that Temple provides to students, like advanced courses and personal guidance for assignments. You will also enjoy the parties and culture of the USA. It’s really fun.
Likes (Internships): Temple is a research-based R1 university. It provides a versatile experience with real-life scenarios as well as advanced labs so it's a very good experience when you enrol as an intern. So, lots of companies come to the fair and you get a chance to showcase your skills, and there you can get a chance to intern.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Don't look for a part-time job here. The main focus should be on studying, and that can be challenging enough as it is. I wouldn't advise trying to tackle both studying and working at the same time. The workload for each is already significant, and you wouldn't want to overwhelm yourself too much.

The faculty are very helpful, understanding and supportive.
Tips: Students should check for off-campus accommodations that are close to the university and for scholarships. Ask college professionals about your average expenses and make sure that you have some extra money just in case of an emergency. Going to a different country might get lonely in the start but once you get to know your classmates and make some friends it gets better over the period of time.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty for my department is excellent. They help you study everything that you are supposed to learn. Make ways to communicate and meet you if you cannot understand something in class and will also try to make almost everything easy for you to understand and help learn and grow.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Indian food is easily available but it is still a lot expensive than what you might expect. Also, sometimes the quality won't even be up to the mark. Buying groceries for Indian food might be costly but less expensive than eating outside. I prefer cooking and making food for myself most of the time as it is less expensive and you know you're eating healthy.
