Explore Poland as a study abroad destination in Europe

Poland is a country, where the numbers of international students have recently been increasing dynamically on an annual basis. In the academic year 2005-06, a little more than 10,000 international students decided to come to Poland to study. This number has been steadily growing ever since to reach more than 25,000 according to various sources. The tendency shows that Poland, as a higher education destination, will become more and more popular in the coming years.

No wonder why, Poland is aspiring to join the club of the most popular educational destinations and has everything to succeed: good, a cost-effective offer of study programs fully in English, stay back, scholarship and work opportunities for foreign students as well as the cheap cost of living for students. All this awaits you in one of the fastest developing European Union countries.

Foreign students studying in Poland originate from around the world, but the biggest group in 2009-10 was constituted by Ukrainians and Belarusians, followed by the Norwegian and Swedish students. As a matter of fact, when studying in Poland, you can meet students from various countries, including the USA, Canada, Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, India, Turkey and many more.

The most popular have traditionally been medical, business-related (including MBA) and engineering studies of various streams like IT, Aeronautical Engineering, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering to name a few. What attracts foreigners to Poland are high-quality degree programs offered fully in English. Polish business universities rank high in various international rankings, including the Financial Times rankings. Additionally, Polish technical universities’ students win many prestigious international contests. In the Facebook Hacker Cup, year to year Poles have been winning top positions, and the same holds for other group-programming competitions.

However, good quality is not the only advantage of studying in Poland. Tuition fees and living costs are much more affordable than in other European countries. A total of 30,000 INR per month suffices to cover the cost of accommodation, food, transport, and cultural life.
