Not as fun as expected!!!
Tips: Let’s be completely honest: Deggendorf is a tiny Bavarian town and if you're coming from a massive city, it is going to feel incredibly boring after a while. There isn't much of a nightlife scene, so you have to make your own fun with friends. On the bright side, the actual university transition is surprisingly smooth. The campus paperwork and registration are straightforward, so you won't hit any major bureaucratic roadblocks when you first land. Because local job opportunities are pretty sparse in a small town, a lot of tech students look outward. I actually managed to secure a remote Werkstudent (working student) role based out of Munich, which lets me fund my life here while commuting only when necessary. As for the culture shock, the wildest moment happens when you first hit a local gym or sauna. German body culture is entirely different, and you will quickly have to get used to people walking around completely naked in the changing rooms without a care in the world. It’s totally normal here, even if it catches you completely off guard at first.

A exciting University in Deggendorf
Tips: Yes, I have a transition because so many new and different rules are there. I don't actually, but there are many, and the university always supports me by email, providing all the information. I am very satisfied with university teaching and also sports that the university provides; the course is very nice and has clear concepts.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculty members can be reached easily with email as well as after the lectures. Actually, it depends on the professor; everyone has their own way of teaching. Not much because almost everyone is German; there are some professors who are also from other countries, but that really doesn't matter here, so it's fine.
Dislikes (Public transportation): University is well connected. Only the bus is the only means of transportation. If you have a Deutschlandticket, then it is free, but not very convenient on weekends because no transportation is available on weekends, so we need to go by foot anywhere we want without any transportation.

MEng Artificial Intelligence for Smart Sensors and Actuators - Batch of 2025

Great value for money if the goal is to get a degree.
Tips: Students should know that for this university, studying in Campus Charm and finding accommodation is very difficult until they know some seniors already doing their master's in this Campus Charm. However, there are student WhatsApp groups internationally and specifically an Indian student WhatsApp group, which will be of great help in finding accommodation; other than that, traditional approaches like apps or WG-Gesucht are nearly impossible. eBay Kleinanzeigen is another good option. In terms of part-time, it is also very limited since the city is kind of a village and the number of vacancies is fewer; however, knowing a good German level is a very good plus point. But there are always options for the students to travel to nearby bigger cities like Regensburg for more opportunities, which is 1 hr away by train; that's the way many students are doing it.
Likes (Value for money): Yes, the tuition fees were just 72 euros for a semester, which is approximately just equal to 7.5 percent of monthly expenses. That's kind of free considering the labs, German classes, and the infrastructure and, of course, the course we study as a master's provides.
Dislikes (Internships): Here’s the deal with working while studying at DIT: if your specific degree plan doesn't force you to do a mandatory internship, hunting for a normal corporate internship can be an uphill battle. German companies usually prefer hiring students who need to do a mandatory stint because it cuts down on their paperwork and tax hassle. But you can easily bypass that roadblock by looking for a working student job (Werkstudent) instead. When you go down the working student route, the playing field is completely level. Companies aren't looking for a mandatory university letter for those roles anyway, so you’re competing on equal terms based purely on your actual skills and how well you interview.

The college is very good and has international exposure. Professors are very highly educated.
Tips: Students who wants to join this should be aware that the education here is more onto practical side rather than the theoretical. You have to build working projects by yourself self and you will get the funds and every possible thing needed for the project from the college.

Good placement rate at this university.
Tips: Students must check their curriculum briefly to get an idea of what they will be learning in their upcoming years. Some programs require you to pass an assessment test before getting enrolled in your selected program. They should prepare themselves for the upcoming challenges.
Likes (Post study jobs): They have a pretty good placement rate after course completion. It is beneficial for students that they are getting employment just after finishing their course. There are many large companies too which students are getting placed into. They can visit Munich for better job opportunities.
Dislikes (Part time work): It's difficult to find part-time here. The first requirement would be the German language otherwise it would be problematic for an individual. The city does not have enough companies in which students can work part-time but still it is possible to find one.

University in the midst of Nature, calm as compared to busy cities.
Tips: The university is practical-oriented and focuses more on practical understanding rather than theoretical one (just as any other Hochschule in Germany). The faculty so far has been really helpful and is available most of the time. The university is, however, located in a remote place, and thus the chances of getting a working student job or a part-time job are lower as compared to any other big city such as Munich. A lot of students travel to nearby cities for work, which is manageable depending on one's coursework. Satisfaction (3/5): I am attending my 1st semester, so there is a lot to discover.
