- An eight-semester bachelor's degree from the Goethe University with history as a major or a content-wise equivalent, at least eight-semester course at another academic university in Germany.
- In the case of a bachelor’s degree in history or an at least equivalent foreign degree in the same or related subject with a standard period of study of at least six semesters, admission is granted subject to the provision of additional services up to equivalence with the eight semester major bachelor’s subject at the Goethe University Frankfurt.
- If student have a first degree with a major in history (corresponding to a total of 180 CP), a bachelor's degree with 60 CP in the minor (not history) is required. In the case of additional requirements, the standard period of study is extended to four semesters up to the completion of the master’s degree.
