- Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree or diploma (FH or university) in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Biology, Physics or Physical Engineering or Neurosciences, Medicine, Psychology or Physiology with sufficient additional (technical) qualifications amounting to a minimum of 210 ECTS credits which corresponds to a standard program duration of 7 semesters.
- If you have completed a six semester Bachelor’s programme (180 ECTS), you are required to pass selected modules from the htw saar Biomedical Engineering Bachelor's programme with a total of 30 ECTS points.
- For all applicants who do not yet have a Bachelor's degree, it will be assumed that they have registered their Bachelor's thesis, that the processing period ends within the current semester, and that no more than 45 ECTS credits are lacking by the end of the Bachelor's program.
- Prerequisites:- engineering science (anatomy and physiology of the nervous system)
- The overall grade should be 2.5 or better.

Decent university and good professors.
Tips: HTW Saar is a decent university with good, well-educated professors who are easy to get along with, but it’s not very multicultural, too happening, or strict. The city itself is friendly with a lot of Indians, it has a slow pace of life and offers the best of both town and country life with an open-minded atmosphere, nearby hills, and a great work-life balance. It's easy to get around by train, and the education is tough.
Likes (Safety): I have not heard any safety-related issues among students yet. I used to live in the city center so that was safe. I have been out late nights, we went for walks and nothing ever happened. There are a lot of refugees and immigrants in the city but it still felt safe.
Dislikes (Value for money): The tuition fees at HTW Saar were not too high, nor too low. It was around 390 euros, which also includes the Deutschland ticket, which comes in handy if you do any travelling within Germany. But I have to say, compared to the other German unis I considered, which all charge state tuition fees of 1,000 euros or more, 390 euros was pretty reasonable.
