M.Eng. International Business and Engineering - Batch of 2022
3.4
International Business and Engineering course at SRH Heidelberg.
Tips: Since it is a private college, no one cares about your studies as long as you keep paying fees. So, it is completely your responsibility to study, learn German, and look for part-time and full-time jobs at the same time. Also, you do not have the luxury of semester breaks if you cannot afford to pay approximately 6 lakh INR per semester, unlike public universities or some other private universities.
Likes (Safety): It is located well within the city limits, and the infrastructure is relatively new. Also, since Heidelberg is not a small village unlike RWTH Aachen or Hof, people feel relatively easy to move around freely, even with public Transport. Hence, more safe.
Dislikes (Value for money): Too costly for what it offers in comparison to other private colleges such as Hochschule Hof, etc. First priority should always be to get an admit in a public university followed by private universities like Hochschule Hof etc before considering a costly one like this.

Business studies are mostly offered in private universities.
Tips: Getting jobs doesn't depend only on university. It also depends on the individual, his background, and the field to work in in the future. I got no scholarships, I have not tried. But some people with extra ordinary achievements or good grades have got scholarships. I worked part-time when I was a student and improved my German and that's the main reason why I got the job. So, German will always be No.1 for me. But many people have got English jobs, so it's all about applying for the right job at the right moment.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): If one wishes to settle here, then there are numerous choices available. I am not yet sure whether I wish to settle permanently in this country or not because it has been almost 4 years since then. But over time, one may opt for other alternatives that present themselves. PR would be an ideal choice if one does not want to be a citizen of this country.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Very few companies, to my knowledge. But there are definitely some companies that want to sponsor the visa for work. Job roles and salary depend on whether the candidate has experience abroad or not in a similar field. German language is also an important aspect when it comes to a job. Internships and working as a student during studies are an excellent way to get into German companies and also gain exposure.

Its a good college in a very job friendly region.
Tips: Look, the biggest thing you have to swallow about SRH Heidelberg is the price tag. It’s a private school, so you’ll be paying thousands in tuition fees while students at Germany’s public universities pay virtually zero. If cash is tight, I’d honestly tell you to double-check public alternatives first before locking yourself into a heavy contract. If you do go ahead with SRH, do not just burn through your savings or rely on family money. Start hunting for external funding straight away—check the DAAD database (Stipendienlotse), apply for the Deutschlandstipendium, or ask admissions directly about any fee waivers or merit discounts they have. Also, don't expect the university to drop a job in your lap. Their Career Service and JobTeaser portal give you a basic starting point, but finding a Werkstudent gig or a post-grad job comes down to your own hustle. You'll need to cold-apply on company career sites, polish your LinkedIn, and network hard across local companies in the Rhine-Neckar region.

M.Sc. Applied Computer Science - Batch of 2020
4.5
SRH Heidelberg Review - ASC - 2020
Tips: There are some cultural shifts, which is normal. Because it’s a different continent that you’re moving to. The course was very practical and less theoretical, helping you prepare for the job you’re planning to get after studies. The country is amazing if you speak German.
Likes (Student Life): Because the culture is very diverse. And the staff and student helpers are friendly. The infrastructure is great for studying and spending time in the university. There are on-campus German language classes, which are free of cost. There are a lot of student events also organized by the staff and students.
Dislikes (Value for money): Yes, when I started studying, the fees were 16,000€ for 2 years. Now, it has increased substantially. But still less than most of the universities across Europe. Because if you choose a university in the US or the UK, it’s very expensive, between 30,000 and 40,000 euros/pounds.

Completely practical oriented course but expensive
Tips: Students learn a new way of leading life. Working part-time and studying is not an easy task. But it teaches a lot. Definitely there is a cultural shift with language, food, and traditions followed, and the most important part is the rules. The course is completely practical, focused on building projects and gaining experience with different technologies.
Likes (Public transportation): Teams, buses, and cabs are available. Students get a semester ticket, which they can use to travel around the city without any extra ticket. The campus is very well connected with public transport, starting from 4 am to 1 am. The campus is located close to the city as well.
Dislikes (Value for money): Tuition fees are expensive, as there are many options in Germany where you pay much less for the same education. Unlike India, most of the course is self-study in Germany. There are similar courses in TUs where you pay much less to study the same.

Good and worth it, give good exposure to the industry level experience by projects
Tips: Before joining this university, students should know that they need to be independent and proactive. The university provides support, but the students should take the responsibility for their studies, assignments, job search, and networking. It is also useful to learn German back in India.
Likes (Safety): I rated 5 for safety because Heidelberg feels very safe and peaceful for students. I feel comfortable traveling within the city, even in the evening, and the public transport is usually well connected and active. Apart from campus security. Students also benefit from safe public transport, well-lit streets in most areas, emergency services and a California student-friendly environment.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): I rated it 3 because post-job study opportunities are not good; they can be quite competitive and sometimes not possible, especially for international graduates. I believe there are decent chances, but with strong German language skills, which some consultancies hide for their profit, networking can make a big difference.
