A place that develops you in every way
Tips: You need to be able to cook and do all the stuff along with managing studies so be prepared for that. It can be hard to make friends on the first day but it's not difficult at all. The people are very friendly. Irish people in general are very kind and helpful and fun-loving.
Likes (Safety): It is a college town and we use public transport all the time. I have not felt unsafe while going alone anywhere. People go out all the time and hang out till late at night as well but the crowd of the town or university itself is pretty nice and the people are helpful and kind.
Dislikes (Part time work): I went in 2020 and due to covid the 2 years things were closed and it was difficult to get a part job on campus. However, there were enough opportunities to find work in places outside but closer to the campus. But you will have to work hard to get those jobs.

Maynooth University is fun loving yet an academically oriented school.
Tips: One thing that your should know is to try to make friends early when you start college because in later years people would have made their friend group and won't mingle with you very much. The students are really friendly but won't bother to come and hang out otherwise.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty in Maynooth University is outstanding. They treat every student nicely and spend individual time with them if needed. When it comes to needing extra assistance or some help even outside the course, they would do their best to help the student out. I feel like that's the most important thing for an international student.
Dislikes (Part time work): Even though Maynooth University is an amazing school the one major problem I faced was not being able to find part-time jobs easily. Not only me, but even my friends are facing the same issue and the school does not unnecessarily help the students find one in any way.

Empowering, supportive and life changing journey.
Tips: Students should know that this college promotes independence. You need to take initiative for internships and campus involvement. Adjusting took some time due to different academic and social cultures, but I adapted well. I received a merit-based scholarship covering about 30% of my tuition. Overall, I am very satisfied with the course; the faculty is supportive, and the environment is great for personal growth.
Likes (Safety): I felt extremely safe throughout my time in the city. Beyond campus security, multiple safety measures made a real difference. CCTV surveillance and public areas, Emergency response buttons at bus stops and women-only travel options late at night. The city also had a reliable mobile app for tracking public transport and alerting authorities if needed. One especially positive experience I had was when I lost my wallet in a local bus; amazingly, a fellow commuter returned it to the Depot, and I got it back with everything intact. The level of honesty and helpfulness reinforced how secure I felt living there.
Dislikes (Internships): While internships were available, most of them required students to take significant initiative to find relevant roles. The uni provided basic resources like job boards and occasional career fairs, but personalised guidance or structured programs were limited.
