Excellent student experience and totally worth the investment
Tips: For me, there was not much transition, as there were many Indians in my class/course and very few non-Indians. Yes, I availed myself of a scholarship from the university itself, which reduced my tuition fees. I am very satisfied with the course, as it aims for more hands-on learning, and the university is really good compared to other universities here in Ireland. Also, in general I really like it here, and especially Cork, where I am staying, as people are very friendly, polite, and welcoming. Never had any issues so far!
Likes (Part time work): There are lots of part-time opportunities available off-campus, and for this cybersecurity course, it's easily manageable along with the academics and even for any other course except for anyone choosing the AI course. Usually, it keeps increasing every year, and this year (2026) it's anywhere from 14 to 18 euros per hour.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Well, it depends on the domain, and for cybersecurity there are a good number of companies that offer sponsored visas for work. Again, it depends on whether they've had prior work experience in this domain. For any other domains it's comparatively less, is what I have seen, but I'd say generally anyone with good years of experience in those domains, say 4+ years, has better job roles and salary packages offered in general.
