About Vilnius University
Vilnius University, a public university was established in 1579. The official foundation of the university is November 24, 1781 when the medical department was officially established. Earlier, it was known as Principal School of Grand Duchy of Lithuania High School. Vilnius ranking is #1 at national level and #299 in world by Shiksha Popularity Ranking. Many reputed ranking bodies have also ranked the university, QS Rankings 2025 is #439 which is better than that of 2024 rankings.
