Tips: Language is an important part of long-term living in the country. Internships can be done at any time and preferably during your studies only. There is not that much of a cultural difference for most urban students, and there are multiple campuses in the university, so it's varied.
Likes (Safety): It's a very safe city. I feel it's the common consensus that it's very safe for Europe. Amsterdam has good street lighting, a visible police presence, and a general culture of looking out for one another. I never felt unsafe at any point during my time here.
Dislikes (Part time work): Language barrier and visa issues are the two main hurdles for part-time work. If you have both sorted, it becomes fairly manageable alongside academics. On-campus jobs exist but are limited. Off-campus opportunities are more common, typically paying around minimum wage.

It’s pretty good and I have learned a lot
Tips: Make sure you check the dropout rate because it’s a very academically oriented university. Education is quite hard and very fast-paced, and even though getting into the university is quite easy, the dropout rate for my course is 50-60 percent, and that’s scary.
Likes (Public transportation): It’s amazing; the Netherlands has the best transportation infrastructure system in the world, and it’s very affordable, around 100 a month. Also, there are tons of monthly and weekly passes and also student discounts as well as weekend passes, so it’s pretty good.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): I would definitely settle in this country, but the two problems are housing and taxes, and it makes a lot of difference for a student. Also, one other issue is the wage gap between women and men, which is an important factor to keep in mind. So check everything before you come.

Friendly and welcoming.
Tips: There are a bunch of cultural shocks and shifts you may experience, for me food was one of the biggest ones. I felt the impact of it over time, it is something you have to adjust to since ordering it and eating out are not very cheap of options.
The university offers different scholarships; do your research in time to be able to apply for them in time.
I enjoyed the campus atmosphere a lot when I moved here, as well as the city overall. The nightlife is very exciting.
Likes (Safety): The city of Amsterdam in general is quite safe. Certain areas during certain times are not as safe as they would usually be; this is something that you grow to learn by hearing about it from others and through living in the city itself. But as a woman I would say that the city has been very safe for me, given I have always been aware of my surroundings.
Dislikes (Internships): Study advisors, job boards and networking events every once in a while. But getting internships is something that you have to independently figure out. LinkedIn and other similar job portals are there to explore internships. The competition differs depending on the field you apply for, over all you need to do your own research.

Beyond traditional way of learning.
Tips: The university is a research based university. Do not expect the traditional way of learning like in India. The classes are interactive and you need to be prepared before the classes. The exams are very different, mostly open book but includes very specific way of learning. The environment is international but if you need to find a job, you will need to learn Dutch at some point. It's an English speaking country but still, Dutch is very prominent.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transport in the city is excellent but expensive. But it's a biking city. You can have your bike and it's the most affordable way to get around. The connectivity around the country is very good and accessible. It's expensive. But you can always bike around which is cheap.
Dislikes (Part time work): The university does not have a network and does not help you with part time work or internships. As a student you are allowed 16 hours of work in a week which you need to find urself. Since the course is quite intense, it's not easy to work or intern with the course. If you take an internship which isn't easy to get since it's a Dutch speaking country you do get some credit for the course but not in all cases.

The job market is not good at the moment.
Tips: It all takes time adjusting. Must look at the job market and types of jobs for the industry you are aiming for since sometimes the study might not be the best for getting a job. Need to be very vocal; otherwise, bureaucracy rules might affect you negatively, but overall amazing.

Academically fulfilling but hard to make friends.
Tips: It was an easy transition in terms of cultural shift since my university is very international, perhaps a bit too international since it’s actually harder to make any Dutch friends. I’m content with the university, I wish there were more university spirit and stuff like sports games, etc. and more opportunities to meet fellow classmates
Likes (Safety): Amsterdam is a very safe and liberal city; of course there can be bad experiences like any place. But mostly public transport is safe and ubers are available. Public transport runs till like 1 am and people are always biking. It's just safe.
Dislikes (Internships): There’s CV guidance and stuff, and there are student run career fairs, but for my course specifically there isn’t a lot of emphasis on career fairs and also if it is, then it’s mostly for the locals. And other than these things, the university will never directly help in finding internships. Plus internationals can’t work more than 16 hours per week besides in certain periods of time, which is very inconvenient since very less companies are willing to hire someone who can work that less.

GMAT scores are not compulsory for all the MS courses available to the students at University of Amsterdam. They are required for STEM courses like Maths, Physics and engineering. The minimum GMAT score is 535 to be qualified for an admission. The compulsory tests that are required for International

University of Amsterdam is an amazing choice for MS courses because it ranks at #2 in terms of MS courses and the University offers around 65 courses to the students for a time period from 12 months to 2 years to choose, so there is vast list of subjects to choose from such as life sciences, physics

It can be a little costly to study at University of Amsterdam as an International student because the University offers around 65 MS courses with the tuition fee ranging from INR 16.24 L - 38.18 L.
