UoA - where you learn about yourself just as much as you learn the course.
Tips: I have made good friends and have a good work-life balance. In terms of cultural shift, everyone treats everyone with respect, usually, irrespective of gender, race, country, language, or religion. Though sometimes you will come across people who do not assimilate and bring the good/bad accordingly. Depending on what vibes a person wants, they will usually find themselves in it. Also, bring a portable bidet. They only use toilet paper here. That's a struggle most Asians do not think about, but I've seen many complain about it later after arriving here, and then pay a high amount to get one installed where they stay, or are still unable to find a good portable one easily locally. - Know how to drive a car properly. Many jobs will require a full local NZ driver's license, and the best way to get one is to have a full license back home, convert it to an NZ restricted license after clearing a written exam, and then take a driving test to convert it to a full license. - Since there are no cooks, aids, cheap street food, etc. That one gets used to back in India, be as self-reliant as possible so you are good to go from day one. - Try to be as healthy as possible, both physically, emotionally, and mentally. Get all your health checks done back home. Doctors are really expensive here, and sometimes the wait to even SEE one can be quite long depending on your case, especially if you need a specialist. I did not use any scholarships, though some of my friends were recipients of the 'UoA India High Achievers' scholarship, you can look into it if you wish to make use of it and are eligible. Overall, it's quite the journey moving to a new country and making a new social life/career, etc. It's not for everyone, and it's definitely a big financial gamble. Grass always seems greener on the other side. There are pros/cons to everything, decide after your own research.
Likes (Value for money): UoA gives an amazing student life, and the extracurricular opportunities one can explore are truly endless. If one wishes to take up multiple hobbies via clubs or attend career events, all options are available. There is no guaranteed campus placement, but almost every big company comes to the university during events or career fairs. So if a student is proactive, they will get the opportunity to make good industry connections that could come in handy for an internship / part-time/full-time later.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The political landscape of the country changes every few years, and the immigration rules change with it, so permanent settlement is not a straight pathway. There are multiple requirements even after a local degree, such as a median wage (or above) salary in a relevant field with an accredited employer, and some others (best to check their site for the latest rules). The work culture is pretty good. The cost of living is pretty high, but the pay usually can cover it depending on hours and lifestyle. So if one has found their ideal job / social circle, then it will be a good country to settle in, just like any other.

The availability of part time on-campus is very low and the university is very competitive.
Tips: Students should be aware of cultural differences and have essential life skills like cooking. They also need to be able to manage a 16-hour day with academics, part-time work, and personal obligations. Unfortunately, I did not receive a scholarship because they are very limited and competitive. The people here are generally nice, and there are always security guards and police officers around to keep everyone safe. If you are thinking about moving here, I would say that you should consider it. The city has a lot to offer, and I think you will be happy with your decision. I am very satisfied with my course, university, and the country.
Dislikes (Part time work): The availability of part time work on campus is very low and given the number of students at the university, it's very competitive. Off campus opportunities are better and you can usually find a job within a month if you keep applying. The course schedule is a bit hectic, but it's manageable if you have a background in analytics. The average payout is quite good.

A bit expensive but good experience.
Tips: Scholarships are tough to get, there aren't enough scholarships for international students. There is a cultural shift for sure. UoA is focused on research so there's a lot of self-study involved compared to the Indian education system. Plus New Zealand has strong cultural roots so good to know about it a little beforehand. The university was good, good course but highly-priced.
Likes (Public transportation): Good connection to university via buses and bike. Plus there's plenty of accommodation around the university so it's east to travel. Public transport isn't the cheapest, students get some discount though. It's easier to purchase your own bike or scooter for better travel experience.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): Good chances of getting a permanent residence after your Masters if you land a full-time job. The work visa after Master is for 3 years so most students apply for PR in that time frame. I'd like to permanently immigrate because of the work culture. The pay scale can be better.

A supportive place for both academic and professional growth.
Tips: It is not as easy as it sounds. Someday, you'll be so lonely that you’ll want to fly back home, but that process will strengthen you in the long run. Your suffering will depend on what kind of circle you get. I did not apply for any scholarships. It is pretty decent. Everything seems pretty good here.
Likes (Value for money): The quality of the study is excellent. They don't expect us to memorise long content; instead, they focus on ensuring we understand the concept. I am still not sure whether the fees are justified. I’ll find out when my course ends and if I end up in a decent role.
Dislikes (Part time work): For a small country like New Zealand, you need a lot of connections for a part-time job in your field. It doesn’t matter what you know; it matters who you know. So it is difficult to find a part-time role if you don't have any connections in this country, but it's not impossible. Average payout is 23.5NZD. If you work 20 hours a week, that is more than enough to pay for your bills and food.

Intense but rewarding. Looking forward to applying what I’ve learned in real life
Tips: I’ve done undergrad in the UK and now master's in New Zealand. I’m pretty comfortable with the cultural shift but one does tend to feel when you shift to a new place. Becomes better eventually. No scholarships are availed. Pretty satisfied, the course is intense but manageable
Likes (Indian Food): All kinds of restaurants/cuisines are available since there is a large Asian diaspora here. Prices range from 15-20 for an average-sized meal. Cooking myself is the best option as it economically better. Eating outside is not sustainable after a point.
Dislikes (Internships): There are a lot of resources/career support from the university regarding this. A lot of career fairs are there as well. There are relevant internships for my programs however since I have work ex, I’m not looking for that but instead, graduate roles can be a good starting point.

Yes. it is not completely free to apply at Auckland for B.E/B.Tech courses, there is a non-refundable application fee of NZD 85 that is around INR 4.6 K. The students willing to get into the University for B.Tech can apply via University of Auckland Application to Enrol Portal.
