Former Vice-Chairman Of Tata Motors Becomes Aston University’s Indian Alumni Network's President

Study in UK: Dr Ravi Kant completed his graduation from Aston University in 1970. He is one among Aston's 2,600 graduates in India.
Aston University’s Indian alumni network has got a new president - Dr Ravi Kant who is a former vice-chairman of Tata Motors. Also, Dr Gaurav Brahmbhatt has become the vice president.
Dr Kant said, “Aston University is an institution which is forward looking and pragmatic. It embraces diversity, encourages excellence and was pivotal in shaping my early career. I am very proud to be inaugurated as the first president of the Aston University alumni network of India. I look forward to working with Dr Gaurav Brahmbhatt and the alumni leadership team in India to make an impact in the region.”
Professor Osama Khan, Aston University’s deputy vice-chancellor (academic) commented, “Thanks to Ravi Kant and Gaurav Brahmbhatt for leading the chapter as the president and vice-president respectively. It is energising to see the development in Mumbai but more importantly the growth mindset of our Indian alumni. The Aston Alumni Community India chapter has a solid structure for truly engaging our alumni community with Aston University’s 2030 strategy and beyond.”
About Dr Ravi Kant
In 1970, he completed his graduation from Aston University with a masters in industrial metallurgy management techniques and he received an honorary doctorate in 2008. He is among a total of 2,600 Aston's graduates in India. Dr Kant has over 50 years of senior-level experience. He became the Tata Motors Managing Director in 2005 and he was the non-executive vice-chairman from 2009 to 2014.
Aston University Gets National Accreditation For Student And Staff Sustainable Travel Commitment
Aston University has received the Modeshift STARS ‘good’ level accreditation for encouraging sustainable travel.
Krutika Ganeru, Aston University's environment and sustainability officer, said, “Achieving Modeshift STARS accreditation is part of Aston University’s commitment to reduce our environmental impact but also to foster long-term behaviour change among our staff and students. This milestone aligns with our 2030 Sustainability Strategy and reinforces our dedication to SDG 13 and SDG 11 by making low carbon travel an easy choice for our staff and students.”
