South Korea has opened applications for the 2027 Global Korea Scholarship for UG students. Indian students applying through the Embassy Track can submit their applications from September 15 to September 30, 2026.
The Global Korea Scholarship (GKS-U) 2027 offers fully funded undergraduate seats in South Korea for international students.
- Coverage: 100% tuition, return airfare, a one-year language course, and a monthly allowance up to 1.2 million KRW.
- India Quota: 4 dedicated Embassy Track seats (2 General, 2 Regional), plus access to 100 global UIC seats.
- Eligibility: Class 12 graduates under 25 years old (born on or after March 1, 2002) with at least 80% marks.
- Duration: 5 to 7 years for Bachelor’s degrees, including the first language year.
- Key Deadline: Embassy Track applications close on September 30, 2026, at 6:00 PM KST.
The 2027 GKS-U programme offers 286 scholarships for international students.

What Does the GKS Scholarship Cover?
Selected students receive financial support for major study and living costs. The scholarship covers:

The guidelines list a degree-programme allowance of KRW 14.4 million per year. Tuition support is provided up to KRW 5 million per semester, with the university covering any amount above that limit.
Who Can Apply for GKS Scholarship 2027?
To apply for Global Korea Scholarship, you need to fulfill the eligibility criteria:
- Age: Applicants must be under 25 years old and born on or after March 1, 2002.
- Education: Applicants must have completed or be completing high school or an associate degree by December 31, 2026.
- Academic score: Applicants need at least 80% marks or must rank in the top 20% of their class.
- Citizenship: Indian applicants and their parents must not hold Korean citizenship.
