Irish Minister To Visit India For Strengthening Bilateral Ties in Education, Innovation, and Investment

Study in Ireland: Irish Minister James Lawless is all set to visit India to boost bilateral ties in Innovation, Investment and Innovation. The delegation will engage in high-level meetings with industry leaders and government in Chennai, Mumbai and New Delhi to pave the way for an era of enhanced collaboration.
Study Abroad: As part of Ireland’s global outreach celebrating - St. Patrick’s Day 2025, which is the national day of Ireland, the Irish Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation, and Science, Minister James Lawless along with a high-level Irish ministerial delegation will be visiting India across Mumbai, New Delhi and Chennai from March 15 to March 22, 2025.
The Irish delegation will be supported by the Irish government’s trade and innovation agency, Enterprise Ireland (EI), IDA Ireland, and the country’s foreign direct investment (FDI) agency. The team will engage with Indian policymakers, business leaders and academic institutions to explore new opportunities for trade, investment and knowledge exchange.

One of the central themes of Minister Lawless’ visit will be education and research collaboration. The delegation will engage with top Indian institutes to improve faculty exchanges, student mobility and joint curriculum development. The discussions will also be held on advancing bilateral cooperation in higher education and forging new Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs).
“Throughout the visit, Minister Lawless and the delegation will engage with senior leaders from India’s top IT, financial services, pharmaceutical and medical device companies. The visit will also mark the expansion of Irish enterprises in India, underscoring the growing presence of Irish businesses in the region. The delegation will also engage with students, academics, and research institutions while strengthening relationships with Indian business leaders and investors. Additionally, Minister Lawless will participate in the prestigious Raisina Dialogue, a key global forum on geopolitics and economic affairs,” reads the official statement.
