Odisha Launches ‘Bidesh Sikhya Bruti’ Scholarship for SC and ST Students to Study Abroad
The state government of Odisha has launched the ‘Bidesh Sikhya Bruti’ scholarship scheme. This is to help SC and ST students of this state to finance their study abroad dream. If you are eligible, then you can get financial support worth INR 25 Lakh per year.
The Odisha government has launched the ‘Bidesh Sikhya Bruti’ scholarship scheme under the Mukhyamantri Medhabi Chhatra Protsahan Yojana. This program provides financial assistance to Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students who want to study abroad.
Key Benefits of the Scheme
- The government supports 50 SC and ST students every year.
- Selected students receive financial support of up to INR 25 lakh per year.
- The fund covers tuition fees (up to INR 15 lakh), living costs (up to INR 7 lakh), and travel expenses (up to INR 3 lakh).
- The scholarship covers 1 to 2-year Master’s degrees and up to 2-year Ph.D. programs.
- Students must get admission to universities ranked in the top 200 of the latest QS World University Rankings 2027.
Who Can Apply for Bidesh Sikhya Bruti Scholarship?
To apply for this state government funded scholarship to study abroad, you need to fullfill requirement mentioned below:
- Permanent residents of Odisha state, belonging to SC or ST categories.
- Candidates with a total annual family income of INR 12 lakh or less.
- Students with at least 65% marks in their previous qualifying degree.
- Maximum age limits are 35 years for Master’s courses and 40 years for Ph.D. programs.
- Applicants must hold an unconditional offer letter from an eligible foreign institution.
