Penn Board Of Trustees Votes To Appoint Interim President As President And Extend His Term

Study in US: J. Larry Jameson was appointed as the Interim President of the University of Pennsylvania in December 2023 and earlier served as the Executive Vice President of the University of Pennsylvania for the Health System.
The University of Pennsylvania's Board of Trustees voted to appoint J. Larry Jameson the President of the University till a period June 30, 2027. Till now he has been serving as the Interim President since December 2023.
While announcing the appointment, Chair of the Board of Trustees Ramanan Raghavendran stated, “The challenges facing higher education today are among the most significant ever encountered by American universities. Given Penn’s complexity, size, location, and visibility, these issues have profound implications for our community. In such a moment, there is nothing more important than leadership.”
“Penn has been very fortunate to have Larry Jameson at the helm during this time. I am pleased that our Board can recognize his exceptional performance, and acknowledge his inspirational leadership and vision, by formally extending his appointment to June 30, 2027," added Ramanan Raghavendran.
While accepting his appointment, Jameson said, “I am profoundly honored by this vote of confidence from our Board of Trustees. I look forward to continuing the vital work of our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community members to uphold Penn’s mission of utilizing knowledge for the greater good. I am confident that our University’s future is bright as we prioritize our core values of excellence, freedom of inquiry and expression, and respect. Penn Gets New Vice President For Development And Alumni Relations At Penn - Kathryn Griffo
Penn President J. Larry Jameson announced the appointment of Kathryn (Kate) Griffo as the next Vice President for Development and Alumni Relations (DAR). It will be effective from April 1, 2025.

I am honored to take on this role and excited to build upon the incredible momentum that has positioned Penn as a leader in philanthropy and alumni engagement.
