In the 2025 Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings, Purdue University was ranked number 11 among the country's public universities in the US, at 26th overall. In the world, it has been positioned at the number 55.

Provost Patrick Wolfe said, “Purdue’s academic reputation continues to grow apace and that’s no surprise, given our focus on scholarly quality and research impact across and beyond crucial STEM fields. From faculty Dream Hires to major strategic initiatives, we continue to lay the groundwork for even greater future successes.”

Purdue University Honors Student With Tyler Trent Courage And Resilience Award

Anneliese Williams who was playing sports as an active sophomore at Purdue University overnight was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition which attacked her nervous system, and she was paralysed due to this condition. She fought bravely by facing her condition with courage and won this award.

“I chose to hold on to who I am and I think that’s what this award is all about: I refused to quit,” said Williams.

While commenting on this, President Mung Chiang said, “Tyler Trent was the epitome of Boilermaker spirit. He breathed old gold and black and was such an inspiration to our community. It is exciting and fitting to recognize Anneliese Williams with this year’s Tyler Trent Courage and Resilience Award — a distinguished honour for those who never give up, who continue fighting in the face of adversity and who provide hope to others despite the incredible hardships they are enduring.”

Purdue University's Study On 24/7 Carbon-Free Electricity In Indiana

A study led by Purdue University explored the effects of small modular reactors (SMRs) in Indiana for 24/7 carbon-free electricity in Indiana.

Seungjin Kim, head of Purdue’s School of Nuclear Engineering and lead principal investigator (PI) of this study commented, “This report underscores the transformative potential of SMRs, offering Indiana a pathway to a cleaner, resilient energy future."

Indiana Gov. Mike Braun commented, “Small modular reactors represent innovative solutions for energy generation. We applaud Purdue’s work, which offers valuable insight as we continue to support a diverse and balanced portfolio of energy resources in the state.”
