Study in US: Apply Now for American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship 2025

The deadline to submit the application and documents for the American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship 2025 is December 1, 2024.
American University Washington DC is currently accepting applications for the Emerging Global Leader Scholarship. The scholarship covers all billable AU expenses including full tuition fee, board and room for two international students who require a non-immigrant visa to study in the USA.
The aim is to provide opportunities and educational accessibility to those who receive this scholarship. It will bring together global engagement, academic excellence, and the university's leadership development.
Emerging Global Leader Scholarship 2025 does not cover non-billable expenses such as airline tickets, taxes, mandatory health insurance, books, and miscellaneous expenses.
Eligibility Criteria
The following are the eligibility requirements for the scholarship:
- International students from diverse global and socioeconomic backgrounds are given the opportunity. Those who have faced more challenges and obstacles and overcame them are the preferred ones.
- 3.8 GPA equivalent needed out of 4.0 GPA for 9th-12th grades.
- They should have proof of commitment to community service, leadership, and volunteerism, and to advancing the needs of people in their home country.
- The applicants should be graduating by June 2025.
English Language Requirements
Following are the English language requirements, the applicant should submit any one of the following:
- 7.0+ IELTS and all subscores must be 6.0 or above
- A minimum of SAT 33 reading subscore
- A minimum score of 65 in PTE
- 125+ Duolingo and all sub-scores should be 115 or more
- 185 or higher in Cambridge Assessment English score and each sub-score must be 169 or higher.
- ACT score minimum 29
- 630 or higher score on the SAT Digital version section.
- SAT Reading subscore or minimum 33
- TOEFL exam is taken after May 31, 2017, and sub-scores of 24+ on the paper-based exam
To apply for this scholarship, the candidates need to apply through Coalition Application or Common Application with all required documents. They need to submit an AU Declaration of Finances Form (AU DFF) and bank letter each confirming a minimum of US$4,000.
"If you are not selected as one of the finalists, you may still be considered for admission to American University, Washington, DC and eligible for partial merit scholarships. However, to continue the application process, you will need to submit proof of funds totalling up to US$81,620 (estimated costs for first year of study)," reads the official statement.
