Study In US: University Of Illinois Offers Certified Electronic Diploma

The University of Illinois has started offering graduates the option to receive a certified electronic version of their traditional paper diploma. The new eDiploma is not replacing the paper diploma which the student receives but it gives them another convenient way to verify their academic achievements.

The eDiploma is to facilitate easy diploma verification. It is the signed and certified PDF of the original diploma and it is available for a one-time charge of $10. After all degrees are conferred for the applicable semester, the graduates can order the eDiploma and they will get it in within minutes and will be able to share it as often as they require.

Vickie Cook, UIS vice chancellor for enrollment and retention management said, “In today's digital age, having immediate access to a certified electronic diploma streamlines the process for our graduates when applying for jobs or further education. It ensures that their credentials are easily verifiable and readily available.”

Students can also order the paper replacement diplomas and can order it online for $30.

"The adoption of eDiplomas is a growing trend among universities across the country, as institutions seek to provide more accessible and efficient ways for graduates to share their academic credentials," reads the university statement.
