In the same context, the University of Birmingham has invited applications for its Postgraduate Chancellor’s Scholarships for India. The value of Postgraduate Chancellor’s Scholarships for India is £10,000. It leads to reduction in the tuition fee for Indian students taking admission to the University of Birmingham PG courses in September 2026.
The students must be domiciled in India to avail the University of Birmingham Postgraduate Chancellor’s Scholarships for India.
- They must have received an admission offer and selected the University of Birmingham as the firm choice for a full-time PG course at the UK campus.
- The students must have paid the £3,000 deposit as per the deadline mentioned in their offer letter. They should also have enough funds to cover the living cost at the University of Birmingham and any visa or travel expenses.
Tuition fee reduction or a full-ride scholarship?
The University of Birmingham Postgraduate Chancellor’s Scholarship for India offers reduction of £10,000 towards the tuition fee (for first year only) for the full-time PG Master’s courses. It will lead to reduction in the tuition fees. It does not cover a few of the expenses like accommodation, visa expenses, food, health surcharge or travel. So, this scholarship will lead to a tuition fee reduction and not complete elimination of the tuition fee.
Process to Apply
Indian students should accept the admission offer from the University of Birmingham first and pay the required tuition fee deposit. After this, the students are required to submit a separate scholarship application. The University of Birmingham scholarship applications close on May 31, 2026. The decisions for the shortlisted students are expected to be announced by August 14, 2026. The selection of the scholarship is based on academic merit and statement of purpose.
Which courses are covered under this scholarship?
The Postgraduate Chancellor’s Scholarship for India is available for the first-year students entering the PG courses at Birmingham University’s UK campus. Research degrees, shorter postgraduate courses such as Diplomas and Certificates, and Distance-learning options are excluded from this scholarship.
Can this scholarship be combined with other University of Birmingham scholarships?
Birmingham University’s Postgraduate Chancellor’s Scholarship for India can be combined with the scholarships issued by the other university’s departments (terms and conditions applied). But, this scholarship cannot be combined with any of the full university scholarship or any partial or full external scholarship.
